Experimental Study of the Electrical Resistance of Graphene OxideReinforced Cement-Based Composites with Notch or Rebar

    Yangao Hu1,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.3, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09773

Abstract This paper investigates the effects of graphene oxide (GO), notch depth, rebar, and load on the resistivity of cement paste and mortar. The electrical conductivity of GO/cement composite reaches its maximum value when the GO content is 0.03%, which is approximately 50% higher compared to the composite without GO. The resistivity of GO/cement composite shows significant changes with increasing load from 0 to 40 kN. The gauge factor for compressive loading varies from about 26 to 73 for different GO contents. Moreover, the resistivity variation with the notch depth in GO/cement is found to be More >

FBXW7 regulates epithelial barrier impairment in human bronchial epithelial cells in vitro by targeting apoptosis signal-regulating kinase1 via the p38 pathway

    BIOCELL, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 723-731, 2021, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2021.014453 - 03 March 2021

Abstract Bronchial asthma is a common chronic inflammatory disease characterized by airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR), inflammatory cell infiltration, and airway remodeling. F-box/WD repeat-containing protein 7 (FBXW7), an E3 ubiquitin ligase, is required for various endothelial functions, such as cell migration, inflammation, and endothelial integrity. This study aimed to investigate the role of FBXW7 in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced epithelial barrier impairment in bronchial epithelial cells in vitro. By using lentivirus-based technology, FBXW7 was overexpressed or silenced (24 h) in human bronchial epithelial (16HBE) cells, which were treated with LPS or not (24 h). Immunoprecipitation (IP) detection and Western blot… More >

Abstract Nanopaper has attracted considerable interest in the fields of films and paper research. However, the challenge of integrating the many advantages of nanopaper still remains. Herein, we developed a facile strategy to fabricate multifunctional nanocomposite paper (NGCP) composed of wood-derived nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) and graphene as building blocks. NFC suspension was consisted of long and entangled NFCs (10–30 nm in width) and their aggregates. Before NGCP formation, NFC was chemically modified with a silane coupling agent to ensure that it could interact strongly with graphene in NGCP. The resulting NGCP samples were flexible and could… More >

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.8, No.4, pp. 359-370, 2012, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2012.008.359

Abstract Aluminum alloys and carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) are two important materials for lightweight design and the combination of these dissimilar materials becomes increasingly important. Recent investigations have shown that ultrasonic metal welding is a well suited process to realize aluminum/CFRP-joints.The ultrasonic shear oscillation parallel to the welding zone with a simultaneous welding force perpendicular to the aluminum/CFRP-sheets melts the polymer matrix and squeezes the polymer matrix out of the welding zone. This allows a direct contact between the carbon fibers and the aluminum. Beside monotonic properties the cyclic deformation behavior of these ultrasonically welded More >
