Abstract With the increasing demand for petroleum resources and environmental issues, new energy electric vehicles are increasingly being used. However, the large number of electric vehicles connected to the grid has brought new challenges to the operation of the grid. Firstly, A novel bidirectional interaction model is established based on modulation theory with nonlinear loads. Then, the electric energy measuring scheme of EVs for V2G is derived under the conditions of distorted power loads. The scheme is composed of fundamental electric energy, fundamental-distorted electric energy, distorted-fundamental electric energy and distorted electric energy. And the characteristics of each electric energy are analyzed.… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.42, No.1, pp. 69-86, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.020120

Abstract Generally, road transport is a major energy-consuming sector. Fuel consumption of each vehicle is an important factor that affects the overall energy consumption, driving behavior and vehicle characteristic are the main factors affecting the change of vehicle fuel consumption. It is difficult to analyze the influence of fuel consumption with multiple and complex factors. The Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) approach was employed to develop a vehicle fuel consumption model based on multivariate input. The ANFIS network was constructed by various experiments based on the ANFIS Parameter setting. The performance of the ANFIS network was validated using Root Mean Square… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.1, pp. 621-641, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.020560

Abstract By utilizing Fuzzy based FOPID-controller, this work is designed via the energy reshaping concept for Grid connected Photovoltaic (PV) systems for electric vehicles and this PV module has its own inverter which is synchorised with the utility grid. In grid connected PV system, the mitigation plays an important role where the capacity of PV arrays increases it maintains power quality and it is necessary to comply with some requirements such as harmonic mitigation. Unless a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is used, PV systems do not continuously produce their theoretical optimal power. Under various atmospheric conditions, MPPT is obtained… More >

Quantifying Contribution of DER-Integrated EV Parking Lots to Reliability of Power Distribution Systems

Bo Zeng*, Yixian Liu, Yangfan Luo

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.6, pp. 1713-1728, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.016678

Abstract In the future smart cities, parking lots (PLs) can accommodate hundreds of electric vehicles (EVs) at the same time. This trend creates an opportunity for PLs to serve as a potential flexibility resource, considering growing penetration of EVs and integration of distributed energy resources DER (such as photovoltaic and energy storages). Given this background, this paper proposes a comprehensive evaluation framework to investigate the potential role of DER-integrated PLs (DPL) with the capability of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) in improving the reliability of the distribution network. For this aim, first, an overview for the distribution system with DPLs is provided. Then, a… More >

    Xizheng Zhang1,2,*, Zhangyu Lu1, Chongzhuo Tan1, Zeyu Wang1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 117-130, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.014081

Abstract Regarding the problem of the short driving distance of pure electric vehicles, a battery, super-capacitor, and DC/DC converter are combined to form a hybrid energy storage system (HESS). A fuzzy adaptive filtering-based energy management strategy (FAFBEMS) is proposed to allocate the required power of the vehicle. Firstly, the state of charge (SOC) of the super-capacitor is limited according to the driving/braking mode of the vehicle to ensure that it is in a suitable working state, and fuzzy rules are designed to adaptively adjust the filtering time constant, to realize reasonable power allocation. Then, the positive and negative power are determined,… More >

    Dehua Shi1,4, Shaohua Wang1,2,*, Yingfeng Cai1, Long Chen1, ChaoChun Yuan1, ChunFang Yin3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.1, pp. 27-39, 2020, DOI:10.31209/2018.100000062

Abstract Model predictive control (MPC), owing to the capability of dealing with nonlinear and constrained problems, is quite promising for optimization. Different MPC strategies are investigated to optimize HEV nonlinear energy management for better fuel economy. Based on Bellman’s principle, dynamic programming is firstly used in the limited horizon to obtain optimal solutions. By considering MPC as a nonlinear programming problem, sequential quadratic programming (SQP) is used to obtain the descent directions of control variables and the current control input is further derived. To reduce computation and meet the requirements of real-time control, the nonlinear model of the system is approximated… More >
