Evaluation of Multi-Temporal-Spatial Scale Adjustment Capability and Cluster Optimization Operation Method for Distribution Networks with Distributed Photovoltaics

    Jiaxin Qiao1, Yuchen Hao2, Yingqi Liao3, Fang Liang3, Jing Bian1,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.9, pp. 2655-2680, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.049509

Abstract The massive integration of high-proportioned distributed photovoltaics into distribution networks poses significant challenges to the flexible regulation capabilities of distribution stations. To accurately assess the flexible regulation capabilities of distribution stations, a multi-temporal and spatial scale regulation capability assessment technique is proposed for distribution station areas with distributed photovoltaics, considering different geographical locations, coverage areas, and response capabilities. Firstly, the multi-temporal scale regulation characteristics and response capabilities of different regulation resources in distribution station areas are analyzed, and a resource regulation capability model is established to quantify the adjustable range of different regulation resources. Techno-Economic Optimization of Novel Stand-Alone Renewable Based Electric Vehicle Charging Station near Bahria Town Karachi, Sindh Pakistan

    Aneel Kumar1, Mahesh Kumar1, Amir Mahmood Soomro1, Laveet Kumar2,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.6, pp. 1439-1457, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.049977

Abstract Electric vehicles (EVs) are the most interesting and innovative technology in the 21st century because of their enormous advantages, both technically and economically. Their emissions rate compared to fuel-based vehicles is negligible as they do not consume fuel and hence do not emit any harmful gases. However, their bulk production, adoption and lack of charging stations increase the stress of power stations due to modern-day lifestyles. If Electric vehicles demand increases drastically then conventional power stations will not bear their demand and if they generate electricity by conventional means it will be very costly and… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.6, pp. 1767-1781, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.017270

Abstract This work presents a hybrid power system consisting of photovoltaic and solid oxide fuel cell (PV-SOFC) for electricity production and hydrogen production. The simulation of this hybrid system is adjusted for Bou-Zedjar city in north Algeria. Homer software was used for this simulation to calculate the power output and the total net present cost. The method used depends on the annual average monthly values of clearness index and radiation for which the energy contributions are determined for each component of PV/SOFC hybrid system. The economic study is more important criterion in the proposed hybrid system, More >
