The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.24, No.1, pp. 1-3, 2022, DOI:10.32604/icces.2022.08750

Abstract High performance martensitic heat resistant steels are widely used in fossil fuel power plant industry due to because of their good creep resistance at high temperatures. In-depth understanding of the high temperature inelastic deformation mechanism of such steels is crucial to ensure the reliable, safe and efficient operation of the power plant [1]. The martensitic steels have a complex microstructure with a hierarchical arrangement, including a collection of packets in the prior austenite grain, blocks in the packet and laths along with dispersed nanoscale strengthening phases (e.g., MX precipitates and carbides). The purpose of this… More >

Hybrid Deep Learning Architecture to Forecast Maximum Load Duration Using Time-of-Use Pricing Plans

    Jinseok Kim1, Babar Shah2, Ki-Il Kim3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 283-301, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016042 - 22 March 2021

Abstract Load forecasting has received crucial research attention to reduce peak load and contribute to the stability of power grid using machine learning or deep learning models. Especially, we need the adequate model to forecast the maximum load duration based on time-of-use, which is the electricity usage fare policy in order to achieve the goals such as peak load reduction in a power grid. However, the existing single machine learning or deep learning forecasting cannot easily avoid overfitting. Moreover, a majority of the ensemble or hybrid models do not achieve optimal results for forecasting the maximum… More >

Abstract Opportunistic networks are self-organizing networks that do not require a complete path between the source node and the destination node as it uses encounter opportunities brought by nodes movement to achieve network communication. Opportunistic networks routing algorithms are numerous and can be roughly divided into four categories based on different forwarding strategies. The Prophet routing algorithm is an important routing algorithm in opportunistic networks. It forwards messages based on the encounter probability between nodes, and has good innovation significance and optimization potential. However, the Prophet routing algorithm does not consider the impact of the historical… More >

Matthias Schneider*, Miriam Moser, Varius Dannenberg, Andreas Mangold, Robert Schönbauer, Christian Hengstenberg, Harald Gabriel

    Congenital Heart Disease, Vol.15, No.1, pp. 51-58, 2020, DOI:10.32604/CHD.2020.011712 - 17 June 2020

Abstract Background: Predicting the probability for sudden cardiac death (SCD) and thus evaluation of patients for electrical device therapy and/or ablation is one of the main tasks in clinics for adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD) following repaired tetralogy of Fallot (rTOF) patients. Previous data suggests that QRS complex analysis can help identifying those patients who subsequently suffer from SCD. We hypothesized that a long QRS duration is associated with adverse rhythm events if caused by conduction abnormalities but not if caused by right ventricular remodeling. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed entailing all rTOF patients who… More >

An Application-Oriented Buffer Management Strategy in Opportunistic Networks

    Meihua Liu1, Xinchen Zhang2,*, Shuangkui Ge3, Xiaoli Chen1, Jianbin Wu2, Mao Tian1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.60, No.2, pp. 559-574, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.04843

Abstract In Opportunistic networks (ONs), buffer management is critical to improve the message exchanging efficiency due to the limited storage space and transmission bandwidth at the wireless edge. Current solutions make message scheduling and drop policy based on assumptions that messages can always been forwarded in a single contact, and all node pairs have the same contact rates. However, such ideal assumptions are invalid for realistic mobility traces of hand-held. Recent studies show that the single contact duration is limited and the mobility of nodes is heterogeneous in reality. In this paper, a buffer management strategy… More >
