    Abdur Rashid Sangi1,*, Satish Anamalamudi2, Mohammed S. Alkatheiri3, Murali Krishna Enduri2, Anil Carie2, Mohammed A. Alqarni4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.2, pp. 2217-2234, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.038305 - 30 August 2023

Abstract Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANETs) enable vehicles to act as mobile nodes that can fetch, share, and disseminate information about vehicle safety, emergency events, warning messages, and passenger infotainment. However, the continuous dissemination of information from vehicles and their one-hop neighbor nodes, Road Side Units (RSUs), and VANET infrastructures can lead to performance degradation of VANETs in the existing host-centric IP-based network. Therefore, Information Centric Networks (ICN) are being explored as an alternative architecture for vehicular communication to achieve robust content distribution in highly mobile, dynamic, and error-prone domains. In ICN-based Vehicular-IoT networks, consumer mobility is… More >

Traffic Priority-Aware Medical Data Dissemination Scheme for IoT Based WBASN Healthcare Applications

Muhammad Anwar1, Farhan Masud2, Rizwan Aslam Butt3, Sevia Mahdaliza Idrus4,*, Mohammad Nazir Ahmad5, Mohd Yazid Bajuri6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 4443-4456, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.022826 - 14 January 2022

Abstract Wireless Body Area Sensor Network (WBASN) is an automated system for remote health monitoring of patients. WBASN under umbrella of Internet of Things (IoT) is comprised of small Biomedical Sensor Nodes (BSNs) that can communicate with each other without human involvement. These BSNs can be placed on human body or inside the skin of the patients to regularly monitor their vital signs. The BSNs generate critical data as it is related to patient's health. The data traffic can be classified as Sensitive Data (SD) and Non-sensitive Data (ND) packets based on the value of vital… More >

COCP: Coupling Parameters Content Placement Strategy for In-Network Caching-Based Content-Centric Networking

    Salman Rashid1, Shukor Abd Razak1, Fuad A. Ghaleb1,*, Faisal Saeed2, Eman H. Alkhammash3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5523-5543, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020587 - 14 January 2022

Abstract On-path caching is the prominent module in Content-Centric Networking (CCN), equipped with the capability to handle the demands of future networks such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and vehicular networks. The main focus of the CCN caching module is data dissemination within the network. Most of the existing strategies of in-network caching in CCN store the content at the maximum number of routers along the downloading path. Consequently, content redundancy in the network increases significantly, whereas the cache hit ratio and network performance decrease due to the unnecessary utilization of limited cache storage. Moreover,… More >

A Cloud-Based Secure Emergency Message Dissemination Scheme in Vehicular Adhoc Networks

    R. Rajasekar1,*, P. Sivakumar2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.1, pp. 117-131, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023372 - 05 January 2022

Abstract The Internet of vehicles and vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANET) offers numerous opportunities for managing the transportation problems effectively. The high mobility and wireless communication in VANET lead to adequate network topology modifications, resulting in network instability and insecure data communication. With an unsteady flow of traffic, vehicles are unevenly distributed in the geographical areas in practice. A new type 2 fuzzy logic-based secure clustering (T2FLSC) with cloud-based data dissemination scheme called the T2FLSC-CDD model for the VANET has been introduced for resolving this issue. The vehicles are dynamically clustered by the use of the T2FLSC… More >

    acSB: Anti-Collision Selective-Based Broadcast Protocol in CR-AdHocs

    Yueyue Li1,*, Zhong Huang1, Yugang Ma2, Guangjun Wen1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.56, No.1, pp. 35-46, 2018, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2018.03712

Abstract As a fundamental operation in ad hoc networks, broadcast could achieve efficient message propagations. Particularl y in the cognitive radio ad hoc network where unlicensed users have different sets of available channels, broadcasts are carried out on multiple channels. Accordingly, channel selection and collision avoidance are challenging issues to balance the efficiency against the reliability of broadcasting. In this paper, an anti-collision selective broadcast protocol, called acSB, is proposed. A channel selection algorithm based on limited neighbor information is considered to maximize success rates of transmissions once the sender and receiver have the same channel. More >
