Analyzing the Implications of Healthcare Data Breaches through Computational Technique

    Ahmed H. Almulihi1, Fawaz Alassery2, Asif Irshad Khan3, Sarita Shukla4, Bineet Kumar Gupta4, Rajeev Kumar4,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.3, pp. 1763-1779, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023460 - 09 December 2021

Abstract The contributions of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), cloud services, information systems, and smart devices are useful for the healthcare industry. With the help of digital healthcare, our lives have been made much more secure and effortless and provide more convenient and accessible treatment. In current, the modern healthcare sector has become more significant and convenient for the purpose of both external and internal threats. Big data breaches affect clients, stakeholders, organisations, and businesses, and they are a source of concern and complication for security professionals. This research examines the many types and categories… More >

Organizational Data Breach: Building Conscious Care Behavior in Incident Response

    Adlyn Adam Teoh1, Norjihan Binti Abdul Ghani1,*, Muneer Ahmad1, Nz Jhanjhi2, Mohammed A. Alzain3, Mehedi Masud4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.40, No.2, pp. 505-515, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.018468 - 09 September 2021

Abstract Organizational and end user data breaches are highly implicated by the role of information security conscious care behavior in respective incident responses. This research study draws upon the literature in the areas of information security, incident response, theory of planned behaviour, and protection motivation theory to expand and empirically validate a modified framework of information security conscious care behaviour formation. The applicability of the theoretical framework is shown through a case study labelled as a cyber-attack of unprecedented scale and sophistication in Singapore’s history to-date, the 2018 SingHealth data breach. The single in-depth case study More >

A Cyber Kill Chain Approach for Detecting Advanced Persistent Threats

    Yussuf Ahmed1,*, A.Taufiq Asyhari1, Md Arafatur Rahman2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.2, pp. 2497-2513, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.014223 - 05 February 2021

Abstract The number of cybersecurity incidents is on the rise despite significant investment in security measures. The existing conventional security approaches have demonstrated limited success against some of the more complex cyber-attacks. This is primarily due to the sophistication of the attacks and the availability of powerful tools. Interconnected devices such as the Internet of Things (IoT) are also increasing attack exposures due to the increase in vulnerabilities. Over the last few years, we have seen a trend moving towards embracing edge technologies to harness the power of IoT devices and 5G networks. Edge technology brings… More >
