    Guogang Gao1, Lei Xu1, Tianpeng Huang2,*, Xuliang Zhao1, Lihua Huang1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.140, No.1, pp. 305-323, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.047899 - 16 April 2024

Abstract The Rotary Inverted Pendulum (RIP) is a widely used underactuated mechanical system in various applications such as bipedal robots and skyscraper stabilization where attitude control presents a significant challenge. Despite the implementation of various control strategies to maintain equilibrium, optimally tuning control gains to effectively mitigate uncertain nonlinearities in system dynamics remains elusive. Existing methods frequently rely on extensive experimental data or the designer’s expertise, presenting a notable drawback. This paper proposes a novel tracking control approach for RIP, utilizing a Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) in combination with a reduced-order observer. Initially, the RIP system More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 1611-1625, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.029299 - 19 July 2022

Abstract PID controllers play an important function in determining tuning parameters in any process sector to deliver optimal and resilient performance for nonlinear, stable and unstable processes. The effectiveness of the presented hybrid metaheuristic algorithms for a class of time-delayed unstable systems is described in this study when applicable to the problems of PID controller and Smith PID controller. The Direct Multi Search (DMS) algorithm is utilised in this research to combine the local search ability of global heuristic algorithms to tune a PID controller for a time-delayed unstable process model. A Metaheuristics Algorithm such as,… More >

Abstract The Ball and beam system (BBS) is an attractive laboratory experimental tool because of its inherent nonlinear and open-loop unstable properties. Designing an effective ball and beam system controller is a real challenge for researchers and engineers. In this paper, the control design technique is investigated by using Intelligent Dynamic Inversion (IDI) method for this nonlinear and unstable system. The proposed control law is an enhanced version of conventional Dynamic Inversion control incorporating an intelligent control element in it. The Moore-Penrose Generalized Inverse (MPGI) is used to invert the prescribed constraint dynamics to realize the More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.27, No.1, pp. 173-189, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.012805 - 07 January 2021

Abstract The interval type-2 fuzzy sets can describe nonlinear plants with uncertain parameters. It exists in nonlinearity. The parameter uncertainties extensively exist in the nonlinear practical Networked Control Systems (NCSs), and it is paramount to investigate the stabilization of the NCSs on account of the section type-2 fuzzy systems. Notice that most of the existing research work is only on account of the convention Parallel Distribution Compensation (PDC). For overcoming the weak point of the PDC and acquire certain guard stability conditions, the state tickling regulator under imperfect premise matching can be constructed to steady the… More >
