Abstract When the radio frequency identification (RFID) system inventories multiple tags, the recognition rate will be seriously affected due to collisions. Based on the existing dynamic frame slotted Aloha (DFSA) algorithm, a sub-frame observation and cyclic redundancy check (CRC) grouping combined dynamic framed slotted Aloha (SUBF-CGDFSA) algorithm is proposed. The algorithm combines the precise estimation method of the quantity of large-scale tags, the large-scale tags grouping mechanism based on CRC pseudo-random characteristics, and the Aloha anti-collision optimization mechanism based on sub-frame observation. By grouping tags and sequentially identifying them within subframes, it accurately estimates the number More >

Abstract The cutting simulation of soft tissue is important in virtual surgery. It includes three major challenges in computation: Soft tissue simulation, collision detection, and handling, as well as soft tissue models. In order to address the earlier challenges, we propose a virtual cutting system based on the mass-spring model. In this system, MSM is utilized to simulate the soft tissue model. Residual stress is introduced to the model for simulating the shrinking effect of soft tissue in cutting. Second, a cylinder-based collision detection method is used to supervise the collision between surgical tools and soft More >

A Physical Layer Network Coding Based Tag Anti-Collision Algorithm for RFID System

    Cuixiang Wang1, Xing Shao1,2,3,*, Yifan Meng4, Jun Gao1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.1, pp. 931-945, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.012267 - 30 October 2020

Abstract In RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) system, when multiple tags are in the operating range of one reader and send their information to the reader simultaneously, the signals of these tags are superimposed in the air, which results in a collision and leads to the degrading of tags identifying efficiency. To improve the multiple tags’ identifying efficiency due to collision, a physical layer network coding based binary search tree algorithm (PNBA) is proposed in this paper. PNBA pushes the conflicting signal information of multiple tags into a stack, which is discarded by the traditional anti-collision algorithm.… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.54, No.2, pp. 121-146, 2009, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2009.054.121

Abstract The inverse analysis of radiative transfer in participating media has several practical applications. In most cases, the inverse problem is formulated implicitly and the solution is given by the minimization of an objective function. Gradient based methods have largely been used for that purpose, but it has been observed in recent years an increasing interest in the use of stochastic methods. In this work, it is proposed the use of the Luus-Jaakola method and the Particle Collision Algorithm. The former is a random search optimization method that has been successfully employed mainly in chemical engineering, More >
