Multi-Stage Multidisciplinary Design Optimization Method for Enhancing Complete Artillery Internal Ballistic Firing Performance

    Jipeng Xie1,2, Guolai Yang1,*, Liqun Wang1, Lei Li1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.140, No.1, pp. 793-819, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.048174 - 16 April 2024

Abstract To enhance the comprehensive performance of artillery internal ballistics—encompassing power, accuracy, and service life—this study proposed a multi-stage multidisciplinary design optimization (MS-MDO) method. First, the comprehensive artillery internal ballistic dynamics (AIBD) model, based on propellant combustion, rotation band engraving, projectile axial motion, and rifling wear models, was established and validated. This model was systematically decomposed into subsystems from a system engineering perspective. The study then detailed the MS-MDO methodology, which included Stage I (MDO stage) employing an improved collaborative optimization method for consistent design variables, and Stage II (Performance Optimization) focusing on the independent optimization More >

Multi-Objective Optimization of Aluminum Alloy Electric Bus Frame Connectors for Enhanced Durability

    Wenjun Zhou1,2, Mingzhi Yang1, Qian Peng2, Yong Peng1,*, Kui Wang1, Qiang Xiao1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.140, No.1, pp. 735-755, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.047258 - 16 April 2024

Abstract The widespread adoption of aluminum alloy electric buses, known for their energy efficiency and eco-friendliness, faces a challenge due to the aluminum frame’s susceptibility to deformation compared to steel. This issue is further exacerbated by the stringent requirements imposed by the flammability and explosiveness of batteries, necessitating robust frame protection. Our study aims to optimize the connectors of aluminum alloy bus frames, emphasizing durability, energy efficiency, and safety. This research delves into Multi-Objective Coordinated Optimization (MCO) techniques for lightweight design in aluminum alloy bus body connectors. Our goal is to enhance lightweighting, reinforce energy absorption,… More >

Multidisciplinary Modeling and Optimization Method of Remote Sensing Satellite Parameters Based on SysML-CEA

    Changyong Chu1,2,*, Chengfang Yin1, Shuo Shi1, Shaohui Su1, Chang Chen1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.2, pp. 1413-1434, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.022395 - 27 October 2022

Abstract To enhance the efficiency of system modeling and optimization in the conceptual design stage of satellite parameters, a system modeling and optimization method based on System Modeling Language and Co-evolutionary Algorithm is proposed. At first, the objectives of satellite mission and optimization problems are clarified, and a design matrix of discipline structure is constructed to process the coupling relationship of design variables and constraints of the orbit, payload, power and quality disciplines. In order to solve the problem of increasing non-linearity and coupling between these disciplines while using a standard collaborative optimization algorithm, an improved More > Graphic Abstract

RBMDO Using Gaussian Mixture Model-Based Second-Order Mean-Value Saddlepoint Approximation

    Debiao Meng1,2,3, Shiyuan Yang1, Tao Lin4,5,*, Jiapeng Wang1, Hengfei Yang1, Zhiyuan Lv1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.132, No.2, pp. 553-568, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.020756 - 15 June 2022

Abstract Actual engineering systems will be inevitably affected by uncertain factors. Thus, the Reliability-Based Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (RBMDO) has become a hotspot for recent research and application in complex engineering system design. The Second-Order/First-Order Mean-Value Saddlepoint Approximate (SOMVSA/FOMVSA) are two popular reliability analysis strategies that are widely used in RBMDO. However, the SOMVSA method can only be used efficiently when the distribution of input variables is Gaussian distribution, which significantly limits its application. In this study, the Gaussian Mixture Model-based Second-Order Mean-Value Saddlepoint Approximation (GMM-SOMVSA) is introduced to tackle above problem. It is integrated with the More >

Coordinated Control Strategy for Harmonic Compensation of Multiple Active Power Filters

Jianfeng Yang*, Rende Qi*, Yang Liu, Yu Ding

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.2, pp. 609-620, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.016969 - 24 January 2022

Abstract In order to minimize the harmonic distortion rate of the current at the common coupling point, this paper proposes a coordinated allocation strategy of harmonic compensation capacity considering the performance of active power filters (APF). On the premise of proportional distribution of harmonic compensation capacity, the harmonic compensation rate of each APF is considered, and the harmonic current value of each APF to be compensated is obtained. At the same time, the communication topology is introduced. Each APF takes into account the compensation ability of other APFs. Finally, three APFs with different capacity and performance More >

Bilateral Collaborative Optimization for Cloud Manufacturing Service

    Bin Xu1, 2, Yong Tang1, Yi Zhu1, Wenqing Yan1, Cheng He3, Jin Qi1, *

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.3, pp. 2031-2042, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.011149 - 30 June 2020

Abstract Manufacturing service composition of the supply side and scheduling of the demand side are two important components of Cloud Manufacturing, which directly affect the quality of Cloud Manufacturing services. However, the previous studies on the two components are carried out independently and thus ignoring the internal relations and mutual constraints. Considering the two components on both sides of the supply and the demand of Cloud Manufacturing services at the same time, a Bilateral Collaborative Optimization Model of Cloud Manufacturing (BCOM-CMfg) is constructed in this paper. In BCOM-CMfg, to solve the manufacturing service scheduling problem on… More >
