CoS Nanosheets Coated with Dopamine-Derived Carbon Standing on Carbon Fiber Cloth as Binder-Free Anode for Li-ion Batteries

    Lianyuan Ji1, Mingchen Shi1, Zengkai Feng2, Hui Yang1,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.12, No.2, pp. 259-274, 2024, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.030599 - 11 March 2024

    Abstract

Cobalt sulphides attract much attention as anode materials for Li-ion batteries (LIBs). However, its poor conductivity, low initial column efficiency and large volume changes during cycling have hindered its further development. Herein, novel interlaced CoS nanosheets were firstly prepared on Carbon Fiber Cloth (CFC) by two hydrothermal reactions followed with carbon coating via carbonizing dopamine (CoS NS@C/CFC). As a freestanding anode, the nanosheet structure of CoS not only accommodates the volume variation, but also provides a large interface area to proceed the charge transfer reaction. In addition, CFC works as both a three-dimensional skeleton and an

Study on Hydrogen Storage Properties, Anti-Oxide Ability and Rate Limiting Step of ZrCr-Based Alloy after Introducing Cobalt as Additive

    Dongfang Huang1,4, Peng Lv1,2,3,4,*, Changlin Zhong1,2, Xingsheng Zhou1,2, Zhichen Liu4

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.3, pp. 1383-1400, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.023261 - 31 October 2022

Abstract In this work, the microstructure, hydrogen storage properties, anti-oxide ability and rate limiting step of Zr(Cr1−xCox)2 (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6) alloys have been investigated. After studying the crystal structure, we found that all alloy samples could show C14-type phase but the alloy sample x = 0 could also show a small amount of Cr phase. Rietveld fitting showed that lattice parameter and unit cell volume of C14-type phase decreased with increasing x. After further research, it was clear that the first hydrogen absorption capacity decreased with increasing x. But introducing more Co content had a positive influence More >

Effects of TiO2 Support and Cobalt Addition of Ni/TiO2 Catalyst in Selective Hydrogenation of Furfural to Furfuryl Alcohol

    Kittithad Wonglekha1,#, Weerachon Tolek1,#, Okorn Mekasuwandumrong2, Wasu Chaitree2, Piyasan Praserthdam1, Kiat Moon Lee3, Joongjai Panpranot1,3,4,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.8, pp. 2055-2072, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.019680 - 25 April 2022

Abstract An effect of phase compositions (rutile, Rut and anatase, Ant) of TiO2 supports on the selective hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol was investigated. The 15%wt Ni/TiO2 catalysts were prepared by incipient impregnation method. The result showed that Ni supported on anatase-rutile mixed phase TiO2 (91% Rut and 9% Ant, A2) provided the highest furfuryl alcohol yield at 43.8% due to the relatively strong Ni-TiO2 interaction, its appropriate crystallite sizes, and high average pore sizes. Furthermore, the effect of cobalt as a promoter on Ni/ TiO2-A2 catalysts was studied. The result showed that the Ni-Co/TiO2-A2 catalysts exhibited poorer More > Graphic Abstract

Melting Characteristics of a Phase Change Material Mixed with Nano Particles of Cobalt Oxide Bounded in a Trapezoidal Structure

    Waris Ali1, Asif Ali Shaikh1, Feroz Shah1, Sajjad Hussain2,3,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.130, No.1, pp. 255-268, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.017313 - 29 November 2021

Abstract A novel trapezoidal design for storage of heat energy through melting of phase-change material (PCM) is investigated. Latent heat thermal energy storage system (LHTES) is a promising option to diminish mis-match between energy consumption and supply. For this purpose, Paraffin: Rubitherm-35 (RT35) material is successively melted in aluminum structure which is heated from one side and the other sides are kept adiabatic. Melting of PCM is observed experimentally and melt fronts are photographed for various time lengths. The fluid-solid module in COMSOL Multiphysics 5.4 has been utilized. The transient heat conduction with enthalpy function is… More >

Comparative Study on Dry Reforming of Methane Over Co-M (M=Ce, Fe, Zr) Catalysts Supported on N-Doped Activated Carbon

    Yinghui Sun1, Guojie Zhang1,2,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.22, No.1, pp. 105-105, 2019, DOI:10.32604/icces.2019.05173

Abstract A series of Co-M (M = Ce, Fe, Zr) binary oxides supported on N-doped catalysts were prepared by impregnation methods and tested for DRM reaction. Moreover, the influence of Co and Ce atomic contents in the catalysts on DRM performance was investigated. Significant enhancement of activity performance over Ce promoted 3Co-1Ce/AC-N catalyst was observed. Compared with Fe and Zr, the catalyst with 1/4 mol% of Ce showed the highest activity and was higher than the supported Co catalyst. The calcined and spent catalysts were characterized by XPS, H2-TPR, TEM and EDX mapping studies. The characterization results… More >

    BIOCELL, Vol.34, No.1, pp. 15-22, 2010, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2010.34.015

Abstract Tumor cells are often found under hypoxic conditions due to the rapid outgrowth of their vascular supply, and, in order to survive hypoxia, these cells induce numerous signaling factors. Akt is an important kinase in cell survival, and its activity is regulated by the upstream phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) and receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). In this study, we examined Akt activation and RTKs/PI3K/Akt signaling using the hypoxia-mimetic cobalt chloride in oral squamous carcinoma cells. Cobalt chloride increases Akt phosphorylation in both a dose- and time-dependent manner. Blocking the activation of the PI3K/Akt pathway using LY294002 abolished More >
