Building a Smart Management System for the Field Training Course at the Faculty of Specific Education-Mansoura University

Soha A. Shaban*, Amira A. Atta, Dalia L. Elsheweikh

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.48, No.5, pp. 1213-1250, 2024, DOI:10.32604/csse.2024.052603 - 13 September 2024

Abstract Field training is the backbone of the teacher-preparation process. Its importance stems from the goals that colleges of education aim to achieve, which include bridging the gap between theory and practice and aligning with contemporary educational trends during teacher training. Currently, trainee students attendance in field training is recorded manually through signatures on attendance sheets. However, this method is prone to impersonation, time wastage, and misplacement. Additionally, traditional methods of evaluating trainee students are often susceptible to human errors during the evaluation and scoring processes. Field training also lacks modern technology that the supervisor can… More >

Modeling of Leachate Propagation in a Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Foundation

    Nadezhda Zubova*, Andrey Ivantsov

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.6, pp. 1407-1424, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2024.051130 - 27 June 2024

Abstract The study deals with the numerical modeling of leachate distribution in the porous medium located under a municipal solid waste disposal landfill (MSWLF). The considered three-layer system is based on geological data obtained from field measurements. For simplicity, the problem is investigated by assuming a two-component approach. Nevertheless, the heat produced by landfills due to biological and chemical processes and the thermal diffusion mechanism contributing to pollution transport are taken into account. The numerical modeling of the propagation of leachate in the considered layered porous medium is implemented for parameters corresponding to natural soil and More >

The Combination of Achnatherum inebrians Extracts and Soil Microorganisms Inhibited Seed Germination and Seedling Growth in Elymus nutans

    Rui Zhang1, Taixiang Chen1, Zhenjiang Chen1, Hao Chen1, Xuekai Wei1, Malik Kamran1, Chunjie Li1,2,*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.93, No.3, pp. 567-580, 2024, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2024.047485 - 28 March 2024

Abstract In a greenhouse experiment, the effects of soil microorganisms and extracts of Achnatherum inebrians on the seed germination and seedling growth of Elymus nutans were studied. The results showed that both the extracts from aboveground and belowground parts of A. inebrians significantly inhibited the germination rate, germination potential, germination index, vigor index, seedling height, root length, and fresh weight of E. nutans, but increased malondialdehyde content, catalase, peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activity of E. nutans seedlings (p < 0.05). The allelopathy of aqueous extracts of the aboveground parts of A. inebrians was stronger than that of the precipitates. Aqueous extracts of the… More >
