AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON A NEW HIGH-EFFICIENT SUPERCHARGER FOR SEAWATER REVERSE OSMOSIS DESALINATION DRIVEN DIRECTLY BY TIDAL ENERGY

Changming Linga,b,*,†, Xiaobo Louc, Yin Zhongb

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.16, pp. 1-6, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.16.16

Abstract To solve the issues of high-energetic consumption, high-cost and high-carbon emissions in the processes of reverse osmosis seawater desalination technology, this study proposed and implemented a tidal energy-gathering supercharger with the concept of using green tidal energy to directly produce high-pressure-seawater-driven reverse osmosis seawater desalination system. Compared with the traditional way of using tidal energy to produce electric power in order to produce high-pressure water for the system, this technology could save energy that may lost in two transferring process thus can improve the energy efficiency of the whole system, lower its running cost, and realize the green production concept… More >

Traceability Technology of DC Electric Energy Metering for On-Site Inspection of Chargers

    Hua Li1,*, Dezhi Xiong2,3, Zhi Wang2,3

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.3, pp. 715-727, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.022990

Abstract The on-site inspection of high-power DC chargers results in new DC high-current measurement and DC energy traceability system requirements. This paper studies the traceability technology of electric energy value for automotive high-power DC chargers, including: (1) the traceability method of the built-in DC energy meter and shunt of the charger; (2) precision DC high current and small precision DC voltage output and measurement technology. This paper designs a 0.1 mA~600 A DC high current measurement system and proposes a 0.005 level DC power measurement traceability system. The uncertainty evaluation experiment of the DC power measurement calibration system and the high-power… More >

A Strategy to Control the Turbocharger Energy of a Diesel Engine at Different Altitudes

    Jianghua Cheng1,2, Xiaojian Li2, Lei Shi3,*, Kangbo Lu3, Ling Leng3

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.4, pp. 959-975, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.023687

Abstract Power deterioration is a major problem for diesel engines operating at high altitudes. This problem stems from the limited availability of turbocharger energy, which is not enough to increase the boost pressure to the required level. In this study, a control strategy is introduced in order to achieve engine power recovery at different altitudes. It is shown that as the altitude increases from 0 to 4500 m, the required boost pressure ratio increases from 2.4 to 4.3. The needed turbocharger energy should be increased accordingly by 240%, and the TCC (turbine characterization coefficient) should be adjusted within wide ranges. A… More >

An Energy-Efficient Wireless Power Transmission-Based Forest Fire Detection System

Arwa A. Mashat, Niayesh Gharaei*, Aliaa M. Alabdali

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.1, pp. 441-459, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024131

Abstract Compared with the traditional techniques of forest fires detection, wireless sensor network (WSN) is a very promising green technology in detecting efficiently the wildfires. However, the power constraint of sensor nodes is one of the main design limitations of WSNs, which leads to limited operation time of nodes and late fire detection. In the past years, wireless power transfer (WPT) technology has been known as a proper solution to prolong the operation time of sensor nodes. In WPT-based mechanisms, wireless mobile chargers (WMC) are utilized to recharge the batteries of sensor nodes wirelessly. Likewise, the energy of WMC is provided… More >
