    Oncologie, Vol.22, No.4, pp. 235-244, 2020, DOI:10.32604/oncologie.2020.014123

Abstract Objective. The purpose was to explore the characteristics and nursing points of surgical and interventional treatment for elderly cerebral aneurysm. Methods. 100 elderly patients with cerebral aneurysm treated in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were selected, and divided into craniotomy group (40 patients with neurosurgical clipping) and interventional surgery group (60 patients with endovascular interventional embolization) according to the treatment method to compare the operation time, hospitalization time, hospitalization expenses, degree of brain injury, complications and prognostic scores of the patients in two groups. Meanwhile, the relationship between the factors (age, aneurysm… More >

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.17, No.2, pp. 63-74, 2020, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2020.08750

Abstract Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been widely used for studying intracranial aneurysm hemodynamics, while its use for guiding clinical strategy is still in development. In this study, CFD simulations helped inform treatment decision for a middle cerebral artery (MCA) aneurysm case was investigated. A patient with a 10.4 × 9.8 mm aneurysm attached with a small aneurysm at the edge of the trifurcation in the left MCA was included in this study. For removing the MCA aneurysm, two scenarios were considered: Plan-A involved clipping the small aneurysm and Plan-B involved clipping the whole aneurysm. A… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.42, No.2, pp. 131-150, 2009, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2009.042.131

Abstract This paper describes a comprehensive and high-fidelity finite element meshing approach for patient-specific arterial geometries from medical imaging data, with emphasis on cerebral aneurysm configurations. The meshes contain both the blood volume and solid arterial wall, and are compatible at the fluid-solid interface. There are four main stages for this meshing method: 1) Image segmentation and geometric model construction; 2) Tetrahedral mesh generation for the fluid volume using the octree-based method; 3) Mesh quality improvement stage, in which edge-contraction, pillowing, optimization, geometric flow smoothing, and mesh cutting are applied to the fluid mesh; and 4) More >
