    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.21, No.12, pp. 2997-3009, 2025, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2025.074456 - 31 December 2025

Abstract Balancing CO2 emission reduction with enhanced gas recovery in carbonate reservoirs remains a key challenge in subsurface energy engineering. This study focuses on the Maokou Formation gas reservoir in the Wolonghe Gas Field, Sichuan Basin, and employs a mechanistic model integrated with numerical simulations that couple CO2–water–rock geochemical interactions to systematically explore the principal engineering and chemical factors governing Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage–Enhanced Gas Recovery (CCUS–EGR). The analysis reveals that both the injection–production ratio and gas injection rate exhibit optimal ranges. Maximum gas output under single-parameter variation occurs at an injection–production ratio of 0.7 and… More >

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.34, pp. 809-829, 2025, DOI:10.32604/rig.2025.069538 - 06 November 2025

Abstract Accurate spatial prediction of soil organic carbon (SOC) and soil inorganic carbon (SIC) is vital for land management decisions. This study targets SOC/SIC mapping challenges at the watershed scale in central Iran by addressing environmental heterogeneity through a random forest (RF) model combined with bootstrapping to assess prediction uncertainty. Thirty-eight environmental variables—categorized into climatic, soil physicochemical, topographic, geomorphic, and remote sensing (RS)-based factors—were considered. Variable importance analysis (via) and partial dependence plots (PDP) identified land use, RS indices, and topography as key predictors of SOC. For SIC, soil reflectance (Bands 5 and 7, ETM+), topography, More > Graphic Abstract

    Yang Yu1,2, Sheng Fan1,2, Zhonglin Li1,2, Zhong He1,2, Jingwei Liu3,*, Peng Xu3,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.21, No.8, pp. 1875-1894, 2025, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2025.066404 - 12 September 2025

Abstract Drilling operations in carbonate rock heavy oil blocks (e.g., in the Tahe Oilfield) are challenged by the intrusion of high-viscosity, temperature-sensitive formation heavy oil into the drilling fluid. This phenomenon often results in wellbore blockage, reduced penetration rates, and compromised well control, thereby significantly limiting drilling efficiency and operational safety. To address this issue, this study conducts a comprehensive investigation into the mechanisms governing heavy oil invasion using a combination of laboratory experiments and field data analysis. Findings indicate that the reservoir exhibits strong heterogeneity and that the heavy oil possesses distinctive physical properties. The… More >

Yuxin Zheng, Ke Xu, Baicheng Zhang, Shengxin Guan, Lin Xia, Zhaoge Huang*

    Journal of Polymer Materials, Vol.42, No.1, pp. 237-253, 2025, DOI:10.32604/jpm.2025.059622 - 27 March 2025

Abstract In this manuscript, we conveniently prepared a series of polyester-polycarbonate copolymer (PPC-P)/polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT) blends that exhibit both flame-retardant properties and toughness. Piperazine pyrophosphate (PAPP), melamine phosphate (MPP) and ZnO were used as synergistic flame retardants for PPC-P/PBAT blends. The effects of synergistic flame retardants on thermal stability, combustion behavior and flame retardancy of PPC-P/PBAT blends were investigated. The results showed that when the ratio of PAPP/MPP/ZnO was 18.4:9.2:2.4, the LOI of PPC-P/PBAT composite was 42.8%, and UL-94 reached V-0 level. The results of cone calorimetry showed that the mass loss rate (MLR), the… More >

Preparation and Properties of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene/Polycarbonate Composite Filament for Fused Deposition Modeling

Shanlong Che, Guangliang Qu, Jin Ding*, Guochen Wang, Yunyan Hao, Dianchen Li

    Journal of Polymer Materials, Vol.42, No.1, pp. 221-236, 2025, DOI:10.32604/jpm.2025.058587 - 27 March 2025

Abstract Acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene (ABS) is the main material used in fused deposition modeling (FDM), which has good toughness and strength, but the single ABS material has poor heat resistance, which tends to cause warping and deformation during the printing process. Polycarbonate (PC) exhibits good performance in heat resistance, allowing it to maintain stable performance at higher temperatures. In this work, PC was used as a blending modifier to prepare five kinds of ABS/PC composite filaments, and the mechanical and thermal properties of the ABS/PC (Acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene/Polycarbonate) composite filaments were studied and analyzed. Results showed that the glass transition… More >

Abstract Low salinity water containing sulfate ions can significantly alter the surface wettability of carbonate rocks. Nevertheless, the impact of sulfate concentration on the desorption of oil film on the surface of carbonate rock is still unknown. This study examines the variations in the wettability of the surface of carbonate rocks in solutions containing varying amounts of sodium sulfate and pure water. The problem is addressed in the framework of molecular dynamics simulation (Material Studio software) and experiments. The experiment’s findings demonstrate that sodium sulfate can increase the rate at which oil moisture is turned into More > Graphic Abstract

Jinshuo Wang, Lida Xing, Fulong Zhang, Chuanfu Liu*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.12, No.1, pp. 89-102, 2024, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.029057 - 23 January 2024

Abstract Wood-based functional materials have developed rapidly. But the flammability significantly limits its further application. To improve the flame retardancy, the balsa wood was delignified by NaClO2 solution to create a cellulose scaffold, and then alternately immersed in CaCl2 ethanol solution and NaHCO3 aqueous solution under vacuum. The high porosity and wettability resulting from delignification benefited the following mineralization process, changing the thermal properties of balsa wood significantly. The organic-inorganic wood composite showed abundant CaCO3 spherical particles under scanning electron microscopy. The peak of the heat release rate of delignified balsa-CaCO3 was reduced by 33% compared to the native More > Graphic Abstract
