    In Vitro Propagation and Artificial Seed Production of Fritillaria cirrhosa D. Don, an Endangered Medicinal Plant

    Abstract Fritillaria cirrhosa D. Don (Liliaceae) is an endangered perennial bulbous plant and its dry bulb is a valuable medicinal material with antitussive and expectorant effects. Nevertheless, lack of resources and expensive prices make it difficult to meet clinical needs. This study presents a regeneration system aimed at overcoming the challenge of inadequate supply in F. cirrhosa, focusing on: (1) callus induction, (2) bulblets and adventitious bud induction, and (3) artificial seed production.     Abstract The cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase (CKX) enzyme is essential for controlling the fluctuating levels of endogenous cytokinin (CK) and has a significant impact on different aspects of plant growth and development. Nonetheless, there is limited knowledge about CKX genes in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.). Here we performed genome-wide identification and analysis of nine SlCKX family members in tomatoes using bioinformatics tools.     Optimization of Callus Induction Conditions from Immature Embryos of Maize under Stress

    Abstract

    The embryos of maize (Zea mays L.) inbred lines GS02, GS07, GS08, GS11 and GS15 were used as receptor materials to optimize the receptor system from the aspects of genotype, medium components and stress (PEG6000, mannitol, salt and low phosphorus). The results showed that GS07 had the highest induction rate (95.2%). Orthogonal test analysis showed that the best combination of medium components in induction was A2B3C1D3(2), namely, the concentration of 2, 4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4-D) was 4 mg·mL-1, the concentration of L-Proline (L-Pro) was 0.8 mg·mL-1, and the concentration of silver nitrate (AgNO3) was 10 mg·mL-1 (or 5 mg·mL).

    Abstract An efficient regeneration system of Rhynchostylis retusa was established to provide technical reference for the application of tissue culture tube seedlings in production. The mixtures of callus and protocorm from aseptic germination were used as explants.
