    R. Saravanan1,*, R. Muthaiah1, A. Rajesh2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.3, pp. 2339-2356, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030898

Abstract This study develops an Enhanced Threshold Based Energy Detection approach (ETBED) for spectrum sensing in a cognitive radio network. The threshold identification method is implemented in the received signal at the secondary user based on the square law. The proposed method is implemented with the signal transmission of multiple outputs-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. Additionally, the proposed method is considered the dynamic detection threshold adjustments and energy identification spectrum sensing technique in cognitive radio systems. In the dynamic threshold, the signal ratio-based threshold is fixed. The threshold is computed by considering the Modified Black Widow Optimization… More > Graphic Abstract

An Adaptive BWO Algorithm with RSA for Anomaly Detection in VANETs

    Y. Sarada Devi*, M. Roopa

    Journal of Cyber Security, Vol.4, No.3, pp. 153-167, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jcs.2022.033436

Abstract Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are designed in accordance with the ad hoc mobile networks (MANETs), i.e., impulsive formation of a wireless network for V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) communication. Each vehicle is preserved as a node which remains as share of network. All the vehicle in the network is made to be under communication in a VANET because of which all the vehicles in the range can be made connected to a to a unit & a wide network can be established with a huge range. Healthier traffic management, vehicle-to-vehicle communication and provision of road information can… More >

Black Widow Optimization for Multi Area Economic Emission Dispatch

    G. Girishkumar1,*, S. Ganesan2, N. Jayakumar3, S. Subramanian4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 609-625, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.027514

Abstract The optimization field has grown tremendously, and new optimization techniques are developed based on statistics and evolutionary procedures. Therefore, it is necessary to identify a suitable optimization technique for a particular application. In this work, Black Widow Optimization (BWO) algorithm is introduced to minimize the cost functions in order to optimize the Multi-Area Economic Dispatch (MAED). The BWO is implemented for two different-scale test systems, comprising 16 and 40 units with three and four areas. The performance of BWO is compared with the available optimization techniques in the literature to demonstrate the strategy’s efficacy. Results More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.2, pp. 1065-1080, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.024172

Abstract The outburst of novel corona viruses aggregated worldwide and has undergone severe trials to manage medical sector all over the world. A radiologist uses x-rays and Computed Tomography (CT) scans to analyze images through which the existence of corona virus is found. Therefore, imaging and visualization systems contribute a dominant part in diagnosing process and thereby assist the medical experts to take necessary precautions and to overcome these rigorous conditions. In this research, a Multi-Objective Black Widow Optimization based Convolutional Neural Network (MBWO-CNN) method is proposed to diagnose and classify covid-19 data. The proposed method… More >

    R. Punithavathi1, Chinnarao Kurangi2, S. P. Balamurugan3, Irina V. Pustokhina4, Denis A. Pustokhin5, K. Shankar6,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.1, pp. 433-449, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.018231

Abstract Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) comprises a massive number of arbitrarily placed sensor nodes that are linked wirelessly to monitor the physical parameters from the target region. As the nodes in WSN operate on inbuilt batteries, the energy depletion occurs after certain rounds of operation and thereby results in reduced network lifetime. To enhance energy efficiency and network longevity, clustering and routing techniques are commonly employed in WSN. This paper presents a novel black widow optimization (BWO) with improved ant colony optimization (IACO) algorithm (BWO-IACO) for cluster based routing in WSN. The proposed BWO-IACO algorithm involves… More >
