Abstract The design of an antenna requires a careful selection of its parameters to retain the desired performance. However, this task is time-consuming when the traditional approaches are employed, which represents a significant challenge. On the other hand, machine learning presents an effective solution to this challenge through a set of regression models that can robustly assist antenna designers to find out the best set of design parameters to achieve the intended performance. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for accurately predicting the bandwidth of metamaterial antenna. The proposed approach is based on employing the recently emerged guided whale… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 2187-2204, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024205

Abstract Designing an authentication system for securing the power plants are important to allow only specific staffs of the power plant to access the certain blocks so that they can be restricted from using high risk-oriented equipment. This authentication is also vital to prevent any security threats or risks like compromises of business server, release of confidential data etc. Though conventional works attempted to accomplish better authentication, they lacked with respect to accuracy. Hence, the study aims to enhance the recognition rate by introducing a voice recognition system as a personal authentication based on Deep Learning (DL) due to its ability… More >

Improving Throughput of Transmission Control Protocol Using Cross Layer Approach

    Jansi Rani Sella Veluswami*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.3, pp. 1231-1239, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.020230

Abstract Most of the internet users connect through wireless networks. Major part of internet traffic is carried by Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). It has some design constraints while operated across wireless networks. TCP is the traditional predominant protocol designed for wired networks. To control congestion in the network, TCP used acknowledgment to delivery of packets by the end host. In wired network, packet loss signals congestion in the network. But rather in wireless networks, loss is mainly because of the wireless characteristics such as fading, signal strength etc. When a packet travels across wired and wireless networks, TCP congestion control theory… More >

    A. Kayalvizhi*, G. Sankara Malliga

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.2, pp. 501-514, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.022855

Abstract The development of wireless communication standards necessitates optimal filter design for the selection of appropriate bands of frequencies. In this work, a compact in size pair of parallel coupled symmetric stepped impedance-based resonator is designed with supporting to the WiMAX communication standards. The coupled resonator is tuned to allow the frequency band between 3.4 GHz and 3.8 GHz, which is centered at 3.6 GHz. A parasitic effect of capacitively coupled feed structure is used for exciting the two symmetrical stepped impedance resonators. The bandwidth and selectivity of the filter are enhanced with the change of characteristic impedances and controlling the coupling gap between… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.2, pp. 531-544, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.021694

Abstract The research work presents, constrained network coding technique to ensure the successful data transmission based composite channel cmos technology using dielectric properties. The charge fragmentation and charge splitting are two components of the filtered switch domino (FSD) technique. Further behavior of selected switching is achieved using generator called conditional pulse generator which is employed in Multi Dynamic Node Domino (MDND) technique. Both FSD and MDND technique need wide area compared to existing single node-keeper domino technique. The aim of this research is to minimize dissipation of power and to achieve less consumption of power. The proposed research, works by introducing… More >

    Abdelaziz A. Abdelhamid1,3,*, Sultan R. Alotaibi2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.2, pp. 2305-2321, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.025739

Abstract The design of microstrip antennas is a complex and time-consuming process, especially the step of searching for the best design parameters. Meanwhile, the performance of microstrip antennas can be improved using metamaterial, which results in a new class of antennas called metamaterial antenna. Several parameters affect the radiation loss and quality factor of this class of antennas, such as the antenna size. Recently, the optimal values of the design parameters of metamaterial antennas can be predicted using machine learning, which presents a better alternative to simulation tools and trial-and-error processes. However, the prediction accuracy depends heavily on the quality of… More >

Md. Mushfiqur Rahman1,*, Md. Shabiul Islam1, Mohammad Tariqul Islam2, Samir Salem Al-Bawri3, Wong Hin Yong1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.2, pp. 2383-2399, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.022150

Abstract In this paper, a unit cell of a single-negative metamaterial structure loaded with a meander line and defected ground structure (DGS) is investigated as the principle radiating element of an antenna. The unit cell antenna causes even or odd mode resonances similar to the unit cell structure depending on the orientation of the microstrip feed used to excite the unit cell. However, the orientation which gives low-frequency resonance is considered here. The unit cell antenna is then loaded with a meander line which is parallel to the split bearing side and connects the other two sides orthogonal to the split… More >

    Jingtang Luo1, Jingru Liao2, Chenlin Zhang3, Ziqi Wang4, Yuhang Zhang2, Jie Xu2,*, Zhengwen Huang5

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.2, pp. 1225-1239, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022812

Abstract Accurate estimation of communication bandwidth is critical for the sensing and controlling applications of smart grid. Different from public network, the bandwidth requirements of smart grid communication network must be accurately estimated in prior to the deployment of applications or even the building of communication network. However, existing methods for smart grid usually model communication nodes in coarse-grained ways, so their estimations become inaccurate in scenarios where the same type of nodes have very different bandwidth requirements. To solve this issue, we propose a fine-grained estimation method based on multivariate nonlinear fitting. Firstly, we use linear fitting to calculate the… More >

Abstract High gain antennas are highly desirable for long-range wireless communication systems. In this paper, a compact, low profile, and high gain dielectric resonator antenna is proposed, fabricated, experimentally tested, and verified. The proposed antenna system has a cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna with a height of 9 mm and a radius of 6.35 mm as a radiating element. The proposed dielectric resonator antenna is sourced with a slot while the slot is excited with a rectangular microstrip transmission line. The microstrip transmission line is designed for a 50 Ω impedance to provide maximum power to the slot. As a result, the… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 199-213, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021886

Abstract Metamaterial Antenna is a special class of antennas that uses metamaterial to enhance their performance. Antenna size affects the quality factor and the radiation loss of the antenna. Metamaterial antennas can overcome the limitation of bandwidth for small antennas. Machine learning (ML) model is recently applied to predict antenna parameters. ML can be used as an alternative approach to the trial-and-error process of finding proper parameters of the simulated antenna. The accuracy of the prediction depends mainly on the selected model. Ensemble models combine two or more base models to produce a better-enhanced model. In this paper, a weighted average… More >
