Numerical Simulation of Vacuum Preloading for Chemically Conditioned Municipal Sludge

    Wenwei Li1, Xinjie Zhan2,*, Baotian Wang1, Jinyu Zuo1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.1, pp. 363-378, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.022254 - 10 August 2022

Abstract Municipal sludge is a sedimentation waste produced during the wastewater process in sewage treatment plants. Among recent studies, pilot and field tests showed that chemical conditioning combined with vacuum preloading can effectively treat municipal sludge. To further understand the drainage and consolidation characteristics of the conditioning sludge during vacuum preloading, a large deformation nonlinear numerical simulation model based on the equal strain condition was developed to simulate and analyze the pilot and field tests, whereas the simulation results were not satisfactory. The results of the numerical analysis of the pilot test showed that the predicted… More >

Fuzzy-Based Sentiment Analysis System for Analyzing Student Feedback and Satisfaction

    Yun Wang1, Fazli Subhan2, Shahaboddin Shamshirband3, 4, *, Muhammad Zubair Asghar5, Ikram Ullah5, Ammara Habib5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.2, pp. 631-655, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.07920

Abstract The feedback collection and analysis has remained an important subject matter for long. The traditional techniques for student feedback analysis are based on questionnaire-based data collection and analysis. However, the student expresses their feedback opinions on online social media sites, which need to be analyzed. This study aims at the development of fuzzy-based sentiment analysis system for analyzing student feedback and satisfaction by assigning proper sentiment score to opinion words and polarity shifters present in the input reviews. Our technique computes the sentiment score of student feedback reviews and then applies a fuzzy-logic module to More >

Theory and Comments on Standard Dilatometric Back Analysis

    P. Kuklik1, M. Zalesky2, J. Zalesky3

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.7, No.2, pp. 89-94, 2008, DOI:10.3970/icces.2008.007.089

Abstract The robust analytical solution was carried out to describe the stress state in the massive round boreholes. It gives the chance for complex back analysis of dilatometric in situ measurements. The main goal of this presentation is to present the incorporating phenomenon of influence zone around the boreholes. The analytical solution gives the chance to describe the progress of plastic zone around the hole. More >
