Research on Substation Siting Based on a 3D GIS Platform and an Improved BP Neural Network

    Yao Jin1,2,*, Jie Zhao1,2, Xiaozhe Tan1,2, Linghou Miao1,2, Wenxing Yu1,2

    Digital Engineering and Digital Twin, Vol.2, pp. 131-144, 2024, DOI:10.32604/dedt.2024.048142 - 31 December 2024

Abstract Substation siting is an important foundation and a key task in power system planning. The article is based on a three-dimensional GIS platform combined with an improved BP neural network algorithm and proposes a substation siting method that is more efficient, accurate and provides a better user experience. Firstly, the BP algorithm is enhanced to improve its convergence speed and computational efficiency for a more accurate and reasonable calculation of optimal site selection. Then, a 24-item selection index system with 7 categories is proposed, which provides quantifiable data support and an evaluation basis for substation… More >

Evaluation of Environmental Sound Pressure Level, Drawing of Noise-Isosonic Map Using Surfer V.19, and Prioritization of Engineering Noise Control Methods Using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP): A Field Study in CGS Stations

    Sajad Zare1,2, Abdolrasoul Rahmani3, Javad Korouzhdeh4, Masoud Hajghani5, Rouhollah Rostami6, Reza Esmaeili7,*

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.56, No.3, pp. 275-291, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sv.2022.020207 - 10 August 2022

Abstract Noise pollution is one of the most significant harmful physical factors in the industrial and occupational environments. Due to the high costs of exposure to excessive noise; continuous sound evaluation, propose and implement noise control plans in occupational environments is necessary. Thus, the present study aimed to review environmental sound measurements, drawing of noise maps, and prioritizing the engineering noise control methods using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This study was a descriptive-analytical study that aimed to assess occupational noises and present a control plan in the City Gas Stations (CGSs) of Kerman, Iran in… More >

Decision Support Strategy in Selecting Natural Fiber Materials for Automotive Side-Door Impact Beam Composites

    M. A. Shaharuzaman1,2,4, S. M. Sapuan1,3,*, M. R. Mansor2,4, M. Y. M. Zuhri1,3

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.10, pp. 997-1010, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.07529

Abstract The enforcement on sustainable design and environmental-friendly products has attracted the interest of researchers and engineers in the context of replacing metals and synthetic fibers with natural based fibers, especially in the automotive industry. However, studies on sustainable natural fiber material selection in the automotive industry are limited. Evaluation for the side-door impact beam was conducted by gathering product design specification from literature which amounted to seven criteria and it was forwarded to ten decision makers with automotive engineering and product design background for evaluation. The weightage required for decision-making was obtained using the Analytic… More >
