    Yonas Hagos1,2,*, Zelalem Bedaso1, Mulugeta Kebede3

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.33, pp. 399-425, 2024, DOI:10.32604/rig.2024.053975 - 27 September 2024

Abstract In regions with unpredictable rainfall and limited water supply, it’s crucial to pinpoint areas with high potential for groundwater and find the best spots for groundwater resource development. This study utilizes the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in combination with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to evaluate the potential groundwater zones in the Gombora watershed within the Omo Gibe basin in Ethiopia. Combining these two tools provided a detailed map showing potential groundwater areas. These zones are determined based on various thematic maps containing information about geology, soil texture, lineament density, slope, land use, and drainage density.… More >

    Sichen Li1,2, Dehua Liu1,2,*, Liang Cheng1,2, Pan Ma1,2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.7, pp. 1921-1943, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.049906 - 11 June 2024

Abstract Due to the depletion of conventional energy reserves, there has been a global shift towards non-conventional energy sources. Shale oil and gas have emerged as key alternatives. These resources have dense and heterogeneous reservoirs, which require hydraulic fracturing to extract. This process depends on identifying optimal fracturing layers, also known as ‘sweet spots’. However, there is currently no uniform standard for locating these sweet spots. This paper presents a new model for evaluating fracturability that aims to address the current gap in the field. The model utilizes a hierarchical analysis approach and a mutation model, More > Graphic Abstract

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.3, pp. 4453-4469, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.048020 - 26 March 2024

Abstract Time synchronization (TS) is crucial for ensuring the secure and reliable functioning of the distribution power Internet of Things (IoT). Multi-clock source time synchronization (MTS) has significant advantages of high reliability and accuracy but still faces challenges such as optimization of the multi-clock source selection and the clock source weight calculation at different timescales, and the coupling of synchronization latency jitter and pulse phase difference. In this paper, the multi-timescale MTS model is conducted, and the reinforcement learning (RL) and analytic hierarchy process (AHP)-based multi-timescale MTS algorithm is designed to improve the weighted summation of More >

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.56, No.3, pp. 275-291, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sv.2022.020207 - 10 August 2022

Abstract Noise pollution is one of the most significant harmful physical factors in the industrial and occupational environments. Due to the high costs of exposure to excessive noise; continuous sound evaluation, propose and implement noise control plans in occupational environments is necessary. Thus, the present study aimed to review environmental sound measurements, drawing of noise maps, and prioritizing the engineering noise control methods using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This study was a descriptive-analytical study that aimed to assess occupational noises and present a control plan in the City Gas Stations (CGSs) of Kerman, Iran in… More >

    Huailin Li1,2, Chan Zhang1, Shisheng Zhou1,2,*, Bin Du1,2, Xue Li1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.12, pp. 3425-3438, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.021157 - 14 July 2022

Abstract Printing quality evaluation is an important means to check whether prints are qualified. However, the current printing quality evaluation system for gravure decorative paper is not perfect. In order to solve this problem, a method for evaluating quality of decorative paper based on analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and the entropy weight method (EWM) model is proposed in this paper. So as to verify the proposed model, decorative paper of different grades was selected as the experimental objects. Firstly, the data about five indices reflecting printing quality were measured. Secondly, the evaluation model was used to More > Graphic Abstract

Agricultural Supply Chain Risks Evaluation with Spherical Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process

    Phi-Hung Nguyen*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 4211-4229, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.030115 - 16 June 2022

Abstract The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the development of the global economy. As most developing and third world countries are heavily dependent on agriculture and agricultural imports, the agricultural supply chains (ASC) in all these countries are exposed to unprecedented risks following COVID-19. Therefore, it is vital to investigate the impact of risks and create resilient ASC organizations. In this study, critical risks associated with ASC were assessed using a novel Analytical Hierarchy Process based on spherical fuzzy sets (SF-AHP). The findings indicated that depending on the scope and scale of the organization,… More >

Guofeng Liu*, Can Zhang, Zhengyi Zhu, Xuyan Wang

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.3, pp. 929-946, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.014816 - 31 March 2022

Abstract Due to the increasing power consumption of whole society and widely using of new non-linear and asymmetric electrical equipment, power quality assessment problem in the new period has attracted more and more attention. The mathematical essence of comprehensive assessment of power quality is a multi-attribute optimal decision-making problem. In order to solve the key problem of determining the indicator weight in the process of power quality assessment, a rough analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is proposed to aggregate the judgment opinions of multiple experts and eliminate the subjective effects of single expert judgment. Abstract The employment of natural fibres in fused deposition modeling has raised much attention from researchers in finding a suitable formulation for the natural fibre composite filaments. Moreover, selection of suitable natural fibres for fused deposition modeling should be performed before the development of the composites. It could not be performed without identifying selection criteria that comprehend both materials and fused deposition modeling process requirements. Therefore, in this study, integration of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)/Analytic Network Process (ANP) has been introduced in selecting the natural fibres based in different clusters of selection concurrently. The selection… More >

Obtaining Crisp Priorities for Triangular and Trapezoidal Fuzzy Judgments

    Raman Kumar Goyal1, Jaskirat Singh1, Nidhi Kalra1, Anshu Parashar1,*, Gagan Singla2, Sakshi Kaushal2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.41, No.1, pp. 157-170, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.018962 - 08 October 2021

Abstract This paper proposes anoptimal fuzzy-based model for obtaining crisp priorities for Fuzzy-AHP comparison matrices. Crisp judgments cannot be given for real-life situations, as most of these include some level of fuzziness and complexity. In these situations, judgments are represented by the set of fuzzy numbers. Most of the fuzzy optimization models derive crisp priorities for judgments represented with Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (TFNs) only. They do not work for other types of Triangular Shaped Fuzzy Numbers (TSFNs) and Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers (TrFNs). To overcome this problem, a sum of squared error (SSE) based optimization model is… More >
