Integrated Calculation of Acoustic Radiation and Propagation of Underwater Elastic Structures Based on the Simple Source Boundary Integral Equation

    Lingwen Jiang1, Mingsong Zou2,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.2, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09669

Abstract Acoustic radiation and propagation characteristics of underwater elastic structures are an organic whole, which should be considered comprehensively. Based on the three-dimensional sono-elasticity theory of ships, the integrated calculation method of acoustic radiation and propagation in ocean environment is realized by using the simple source boundary integral equation. The correctness and accuracy of the method are verified by a series of examples. Based on the domestic supercomputer platform, the parallel transformation of the algorithm is completed, and the two-level multi-core parallel is realized, which greatly improves the computing efficiency. The application of acoustic radiation calculation More >

A Modified Formulation of Singular Boundary Method for Exterior Acoustics

Yi Wu, Zhuojia Fu*, Jian Min

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.1, pp. 377-393, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.023205

Abstract This paper proposes a modified formulation of the singular boundary method (SBM) by introducing the combined Helmholtz integral equation formulation (CHIEF) and the self-regularization technique to exterior acoustics. In the SBM, the concept of the origin intensity factor (OIF) is introduced to avoid the singularities of the fundamental solutions. The SBM belongs to the meshless boundary collocation methods. The additional use of the CHIEF scheme and the self-regularization technique in the SBM guarantees the unique solution of the exterior acoustics accurately and efficiently. Consequently, by using the SBM coupled with the CHIEF scheme and the More >

Acoustic radiation force impulse of the liver after Fontan operation: Correlation with cardiopulmonary exercise test

    Michael V. Di Maria1, Lindsey Silverman2, Adel K. Younoszai1, Mariana L. Meyers3, Kelley E. Capocelli4, Michael R. Narkewicz5

    Congenital Heart Disease, Vol.13, No.3, pp. 444-449, 2018, DOI:10.1111/chd.12594

Abstract Background: The current management paradigm for children with single ventricle heart disease involves a series of palliative surgeries, culminating in the Fontan operation. This physiology results in a high central venous pressure, and in the setting of single ventricle heart disease, results in hepatic injury and fibrosis over time. Fontan-associated liver disease (FALD) is universally present in this cohort, and the current gold standard for diagnosis remains biopsy. Noninvasive assessments of liver fibrosis, such as ultrasound with elastography or acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI), has been utilized in this cohort. The effect of poor cardiovascular efficiency,… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.7, No.2, pp. 173-184, 2005, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2005.007.173

Abstract Conventional element based methods for modelling structural-acoustic radiation problems are limited to low-frequency applications. Recently, a novel prediction technique has been developed based on the indirect Trefftz approach. This new wave based method is computationally more efficient than the element based methods and, as a consequence, can tackle problems also at higher frequencies. This paper discusses the basic principles of the new method and illustrates its performance for the two-dimensional radiation analysis of a bass-reflex loudspeaker. More >
