    Yirui Li1, Dongliang Xiao1,3,*, Haoyong Chen1, Weijun Cai1, Josue Campos do Prado2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.8, pp. 2093-2127, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.049232

Abstract Currently, both regulated and deregulated power trading exist in China’s power system, which has caused imbalanced funds in the electricity market. In this paper, a simulation analysis of the electricity market with wind energy resources is conducted, and the calculation methods of unbalanced funds are investigated systematically. In detail, the calculation formulas of unbalanced funds are illustrated based on their definition, and a two-track electricity market clearing model is established. Firstly, the concept of the dual-track system is explained, and the specific calculation formulas of various types of unbalanced funds are provided. Next, considering the More >

Long Noncoding RNA XIST Promotes Osteosarcoma Progression by Targeting Ras-Related Protein RAP2B via miR-320b

Gong-Yi Lv, Jun Miao, Xiao-Lin Zhang

    Oncology Research, Vol.26, No.6, pp. 837-846, 2018, DOI:10.3727/096504017X14920318811721

Abstract Abnormal expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) often contributes to the unrestricted growth and invasion of cancer cells. lncRNA X-inactive specific transcript (XIST) expression is upregulated in several cancers; however, its underlying mechanism in osteosarcoma (OS) has not been elucidated. In the present study, we found that XIST expression was significantly increased in OS tissues and cell lines by LncRNA Profiler and qRT-PCR. The effects of XIST and miR-320b on OS cell proliferation and invasion were studied by MTT and Transwell invasion assays. The competing relationship between XIST and miR-320b was confirmed by luciferase reporter More >

Novel Investigation of Stochastic Fractional Differential Equations Measles Model via the White Noise and Global Derivative Operator Depending on Mittag-Leffler Kernel

    Saima Rashid1,2,*, Fahd Jarad3,4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.3, pp. 2289-2327, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028773

Abstract Because of the features involved with their varied kernels, differential operators relying on convolution formulations have been acknowledged as effective mathematical resources for modeling real-world issues. In this paper, we constructed a stochastic fractional framework of measles spreading mechanisms with dual medication immunization considering the exponential decay and Mittag-Leffler kernels. In this approach, the overall population was separated into five cohorts. Furthermore, the descriptive behavior of the system was investigated, including prerequisites for the positivity of solutions, invariant domain of the solution, presence and stability of equilibrium points, and sensitivity analysis. We included a stochastic More >

    Hongzhi Xu1,2, Jian Wang1,3, Shuxia Li1,*, Fengrui Zhao1, Chengwen Wang1, Yang Guo1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.3, pp. 505-523, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.030604

Abstract Natural gas hydrate (NGH) is generally produced and accumulated together with the underlying conventional gas. Therefore, optimizing the production technology of these two gases should be seen as a relevant way to effectively reduce the exploitation cost of the gas hydrate. In this study, three types of models accounting for the coexistence of these gases are considered. Type A considers the upper hydrate-bearing layer (HBL) adjacent to the lower conventional gas layer (CGL); with the Type B a permeable interlayer exists between the upper HBL and the lower CGL; with the type C there is… More >

Fractal Fractional Order Operators in Computational Techniques for Mathematical Models in Epidemiology

    Muhammad Farman1,2,4, Ali Akgül3,9,*, Mir Sajjad Hashemi5, Liliana Guran6,7, Amelia Bucur8,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1385-1403, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028803

Abstract New fractional operators, the COVID-19 model has been studied in this paper. By using different numerical techniques and the time fractional parameters, the mechanical characteristics of the fractional order model are identified. The uniqueness and existence have been established. The model’s Ulam-Hyers stability analysis has been found. In order to justify the theoretical results, numerical simulations are carried out for the presented method in the range of fractional order to show the implications of fractional and fractal orders. We applied very effective numerical techniques to obtain the solutions of the model and simulations. Also, we… More >

Numerical Simulation of Multiphase Flow in Subsurface Reservoirs: Existing Challenges and New Treatments

    Shuyu Sun1,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.2, pp. 1-2, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09671

Abstract Two or multiple phases commonly occur as fluid mixture in petroleum industry, where oil, gas and water are often produced and transported together. As a result, petroleum reservoir engineers spent great efforts in the development and production of oil and gas reservoirs by conducting and interpolating the simulation of multiphase flows in porous geological formation. Meanwhile, environmental scientists use subsurface flow and transport models to investigate and compare for example various schemes to inject and store CO2 in subsurface geological formations, such as depleted reservoirs and deep saline aquifers. In this work, we first present… More >

    Kamal Shah1,2, Thabet Abdeljawad3,4,*, Fahd Jarad5, Qasem Al-Mdallal6

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.2, pp. 1457-1472, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.021523

Abstract This article studies a nonlinear fractional order Lotka-Volterra prey-predator type dynamical system. For the proposed study, we consider the model under the conformable fractional order derivative (CFOD). We investigate the mentioned dynamical system for the existence and uniqueness of at least one solution. Indeed, Schauder and Banach fixed point theorems are utilized to prove our claim. Further, an algorithm for the approximate analytical solution to the proposed problem has been established. In this regard, the conformable fractional differential transform (CFDT) technique is used to compute the required results in the form of a series. Using More >
