Emergent Behaviors in Ferroelectric Materials Due to Phase Coexistence

    Xiaoyan Lu1,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.29, No.3, pp. 1-1, 2024, DOI:10.32604/icces.2024.012507

Abstract Ferroelectric materials usually experience various phase under external temperature, electric and stress fields. Unique properties such as piezoelectricity, dielectricity, polarization reversal, and phase transitions are widely used in various electronic devices. Particularly, the phase and domain structures, ferroelastic switching behaviors often play a crucial role in determining their dielectric and piezoelectric properties. Here, we report some abnormal behaviors in ferroelectric thin films and single crystals, from which, we build the Landau theoretical model for relaxor ferroelectric single crystals. Using this model, we studied the phase coexistence and the corresponding physical properties. Using the results, we More >

    Yirui Li1, Dongliang Xiao1,3,*, Haoyong Chen1, Weijun Cai1, Josue Campos do Prado2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.8, pp. 2093-2127, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.049232 - 19 July 2024

Abstract Currently, both regulated and deregulated power trading exist in China’s power system, which has caused imbalanced funds in the electricity market. In this paper, a simulation analysis of the electricity market with wind energy resources is conducted, and the calculation methods of unbalanced funds are investigated systematically. In detail, the calculation formulas of unbalanced funds are illustrated based on their definition, and a two-track electricity market clearing model is established. Firstly, the concept of the dual-track system is explained, and the specific calculation formulas of various types of unbalanced funds are provided. Next, considering the More >

Novel Investigation of Stochastic Fractional Differential Equations Measles Model via the White Noise and Global Derivative Operator Depending on Mittag-Leffler Kernel

    Saima Rashid1,2,*, Fahd Jarad3,4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.3, pp. 2289-2327, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028773 - 11 March 2024

Abstract Because of the features involved with their varied kernels, differential operators relying on convolution formulations have been acknowledged as effective mathematical resources for modeling real-world issues. In this paper, we constructed a stochastic fractional framework of measles spreading mechanisms with dual medication immunization considering the exponential decay and Mittag-Leffler kernels. In this approach, the overall population was separated into five cohorts. Furthermore, the descriptive behavior of the system was investigated, including prerequisites for the positivity of solutions, invariant domain of the solution, presence and stability of equilibrium points, and sensitivity analysis. We included a stochastic More >

Numerical Investigation of Combined Production of Natural Gas Hydrate and Conventional Gas

    Hongzhi Xu1,2, Jian Wang1,3, Shuxia Li1,*, Fengrui Zhao1, Chengwen Wang1, Yang Guo1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.3, pp. 505-523, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.030604 - 12 January 2024

Abstract Natural gas hydrate (NGH) is generally produced and accumulated together with the underlying conventional gas. Therefore, optimizing the production technology of these two gases should be seen as a relevant way to effectively reduce the exploitation cost of the gas hydrate. In this study, three types of models accounting for the coexistence of these gases are considered. Type A considers the upper hydrate-bearing layer (HBL) adjacent to the lower conventional gas layer (CGL); with the Type B a permeable interlayer exists between the upper HBL and the lower CGL; with the type C there is… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1385-1403, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028803 - 17 November 2023

Abstract New fractional operators, the COVID-19 model has been studied in this paper. By using different numerical techniques and the time fractional parameters, the mechanical characteristics of the fractional order model are identified. The uniqueness and existence have been established. The model’s Ulam-Hyers stability analysis has been found. In order to justify the theoretical results, numerical simulations are carried out for the presented method in the range of fractional order to show the implications of fractional and fractal orders. We applied very effective numerical techniques to obtain the solutions of the model and simulations. Also, we… More >

More >

Numerical Simulation of Multiphase Flow in Subsurface Reservoirs: Existing Challenges and New Treatments

    Shuyu Sun1,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.2, pp. 1-2, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09671

Abstract Two or multiple phases commonly occur as fluid mixture in petroleum industry, where oil, gas and water are often produced and transported together. As a result, petroleum reservoir engineers spent great efforts in the development and production of oil and gas reservoirs by conducting and interpolating the simulation of multiphase flows in porous geological formation. Meanwhile, environmental scientists use subsurface flow and transport models to investigate and compare for example various schemes to inject and store CO2 in subsurface geological formations, such as depleted reservoirs and deep saline aquifers. In this work, we first present… More >

On Nonlinear Conformable Fractional Order Dynamical System via Differential Transform Method

    Kamal Shah1,2, Thabet Abdeljawad3,4,*, Fahd Jarad5, Qasem Al-Mdallal6

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.2, pp. 1457-1472, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.021523 - 06 February 2023

Abstract This article studies a nonlinear fractional order Lotka-Volterra prey-predator type dynamical system. For the proposed study, we consider the model under the conformable fractional order derivative (CFOD). We investigate the mentioned dynamical system for the existence and uniqueness of at least one solution. Indeed, Schauder and Banach fixed point theorems are utilized to prove our claim. Further, an algorithm for the approximate analytical solution to the proposed problem has been established. In this regard, the conformable fractional differential transform (CFDT) technique is used to compute the required results in the form of a series. Using More >

Abstract The human immunodeficiency viruses are two species of Lentivirus that infect humans. Over time, they cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, a condition in which progressive immune system failure allows life-threatening opportunistic infections and cancers to thrive. Human immunodeficiency virus infection came from a type of chimpanzee in Central Africa. Studies show that immunodeficiency viruses may have jumped from chimpanzees to humans as far back as the late 1800s. Over decades, human immunodeficiency viruses slowly spread across Africa and later into other parts of the world. The Susceptible-Infected-Recovered (SIR) models are significant in studying disease dynamics. In… More >
