Abstract High-fat diet (HFD) is demonstrated to disturb the bile acid metabolism. The rhythm of bile acid metabolism can also be affected by uridine, whose metabolism exhibits a daily rhythm. However, the mechanism of dynamic uridine administration affecting bile acid during HFD remains unclear. In this study, C57BL/6J mice were fed HFD (the control group; CON) or HFD with oral administration of uridine in the daytime (DUR) and nighttime (NUR) to investigate the mechanism of the effect of uridine on the bile acid. This study showed that the mRNA expression of uridine transporters and circadian clock… More >

Abstract We analyzed the results of previously treated patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) who received regorafenib plus FOLFIRI with the irinotecan dose escalation on the basis of uridine diphosphate glucuronosyltransferase 1A1 (UGT1A1) genotyping. Thirteen patients with previously treated mCRC were subjected to UGT1A1 genotyping between October 2013 and June 2015 and were administered regorafenib plus FOLFIRI with irinotecan dose escalation. Patients with UGT1A1*1/*1 and *1/*28 genotypes were administered 180 mg/m2 of irinotecan, whereas those with the UGT1A1*28/*28 genotype were administered 120 mg/m2 of irinotecan. For all patients, the irinotecan dose was increased by 30 mg/m2 every… More >

Abstract Variations in DNA synthesis (DNAs) and Nucleolar Organizer Regions (NORs) were studied in the littoral cell population from regenerating liver of C3HS inbred mice standardized for periodicity analysis. Immunohistochemical detection of Bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) with a monoclonal antibody and silver staining of NORs (AgNORs) were assessed by means of a digital image analysis system in histological sections. Tissue samples were obtained every four hours from the 30th to the 54th hours after a partial hepatectomy. The results showed, in both parameters, a gradual increment of the values during the period studied, with highest values (DNAs 107.1 More >
