    Abstract High-frequency (HF) and ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) dual-band radio frequency identification (RFID) tags with both near-field and far-field communication can meet different application scenarios. However, it is time-consuming to calculate the return loss of a UHF antenna in a dual-band tag antenna using electromagnetic (EM) simulators. To overcome this, the present work proposes a model of a multi-scale convolutional neural network stacked with long and short-term memory (MSCNN-LSTM) for predicting the return loss of UHF antennas instead of EM simulators.     Abstract In view of the effective perception demand of PD (Partial Discharge) insulation defect of in-service GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear), the external UHF (Ultra High Frequency, 0.3−3 GHz) sensing technology for GIS PD insulation defect from resin hole is studied in this paper. Firstly, rectangular waveguide theory is used to analyze the electromagnetic wave propagation characteristics from rectangular resin hole in GIS disc insulator. It is found that the energy of leaked electromagnetic wave mainly concentrates in the frequency band above 1 GHz.     Abstract The misreading problem of a passive ultra-high-frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) tag is a frequent problem arising in the field of librarianship. Unfortunately, existing solutions are something inefficient, e.g., extra resource requirement, inaccuracy, and empiricism. To this end, under comprehensive analysis on the passive UHF RFID application in the librarianship scenario, a novel and judicious approach based on RFID localization is proposed to address such a misreading problem.     Low Profile UHF Antenna Design for Low Earth-Observation CubeSats

    Abstract This paper reveals a new design of UHF CubeSat antenna based on a modified Planar Inverted F Antenna (PIFA) for CubeSat communication. The design utilizes a CubeSat face as the ground plane. There is a gap of 5 mm beneath the radiating element that facilitates the design providing with space for solar panels.
