Abstract Food Waste (FW) is a pressing environmental concern that affects every country globally. About one-third of the food that is produced ends up as waste, contributing to the carbon footprint. Hence, the FW must be properly treated to reduce environmental pollution. This study evaluates a few available Food Waste Treatment (FWT) technologies, such as anaerobic digestion, composting, landfill, and incineration, which are widely used. A Bipolar Picture Fuzzy Set (BPFS) is proposed to deal with the ambiguity and uncertainty that arise when converting a real-world problem to a mathematical model. A novel Criteria Importance Through… More >

Abstract To improve the mechanical properties of fast-growing Chinese fir (Cunnighamia lanceolate), expand its range of application, increase its value, and avoid the environmental pollution caused by impregnation with synthetic resin, Chinese fir was impregnated with a shellac solution. Since the shellac solution was difficult to penetrate into fast-growing Chinese fir, so microwave pretreatment was used to irradiate the wood to improve the permeability. This study investigated the effects of four factors, including the content of moisture in the wood before it was microwaved, the chamber pressure of microwave, the time of microwaving and the vacuum impregnation… More > Graphic Abstract

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.14, pp. 1-5, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.14.2

Abstract In order to select economical and reasonable Boil-off gas (BOG) treatment technology for different types of liquefied natural gas (LNG) stations, this paper introduces the related technologies of BOG treatment without LNG Output. Using the same working fluid and operating parameters to simulate then the six technologies of pulse tube cryocooler recovery, liquid nitrogen recovery, nitrogen expansion recovery, jet refrigeration recovery, mixed refrigerant refrigeration recovery, and direct compression process were compared in terms of power consumption, economy. On the basis of comparative analysis of power consumption, the actual usage of the above process, and with More >
