Hyperparameter Tuning for Deep Neural Networks Based Optimization Algorithm

    D. Vidyabharathi1,*, V. Mohanraj2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.3, pp. 2559-2573, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.032255

Abstract For training the present Neural Network (NN) models, the standard technique is to utilize decaying Learning Rates (LR). While the majority of these techniques commence with a large LR, they will decay multiple times over time. Decaying has been proved to enhance generalization as well as optimization. Other parameters, such as the network’s size, the number of hidden layers, dropouts to avoid overfitting, batch size, and so on, are solely based on heuristics. This work has proposed Adaptive Teaching Learning Based (ATLB) Heuristic to identify the optimal hyperparameters for diverse networks. Here we consider three architectures Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN),… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 1393-1405, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.024176

Abstract The stock market is an important domain in which the investors are focused to, therefore accurate prediction of stock market trends remains a hot research area among business-people and researchers. Because of the non-stationary features of the stock market, the stock price prediction is considered a challenging task and is affected by several factors. Anticipating stock market trends is a difficult endeavor that requires a lot of attention, because correctly predicting stock prices can lead to significant rewards if the right judgments are made. Due to non-stationary, noisy, and chaotic data, stock market prediction is a huge difficulty, and as… More >

Medical Data Clustering and Classification Using TLBO and Machine Learning Algorithms

    Ashutosh Kumar Dubey1,*, Umesh Gupta2, Sonal Jain2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 4523-4543, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021148

Abstract This study aims to empirically analyze teaching-learning-based optimization (TLBO) and machine learning algorithms using k-means and fuzzy c-means (FCM) algorithms for their individual performance evaluation in terms of clustering and classification. In the first phase, the clustering (k-means and FCM) algorithms were employed independently and the clustering accuracy was evaluated using different computational measures. During the second phase, the non-clustered data obtained from the first phase were preprocessed with TLBO. TLBO was performed using k-means (TLBO-KM) and FCM (TLBO-FCM) (TLBO-KM/FCM) algorithms. The objective function was determined by considering both minimization and maximization criteria. Non-clustered data obtained from the first phase… More >

Segmentation of Brain Tumor Magnetic Resonance Images Using a Teaching-Learning Optimization Algorithm

    J. Jayanthi1,*, M. Kavitha2, T. Jayasankar3, A. Sagai Francis Britto4, N. B. Prakash5, Mohamed Yacin Sikkandar6, C. Bharathiraja7

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.3, pp. 4191-4203, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.012252

Abstract Image recognition is considered to be the pre-eminent paradigm for the automatic detection of tumor diseases in this era. Among various cancers identified so far, glioma, a type of brain tumor, is one of the deadliest cancers, and it remains challenging to the medicinal world. The only consoling factor is that the survival rate of the patient is increased by remarkable percentage with the early diagnosis of the disease. Early diagnosis is attempted to be accomplished with the changes observed in the images of suspected parts of the brain captured in specific interval of time. From the captured image, the… More >

A Hybrid Approach of TLBO and EBPNN for Crop Yield Prediction Using Spatial Feature Vectors

    Preeti Tiwari1, *, Piyush Shukla1

    Journal on Artificial Intelligence, Vol.1, No.2, pp. 45-58, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jai.2019.04444

Abstract The prediction of crop yield is one of the important factor and also challenging, to predict the future crop yield based on various criteria’s. Many advanced technologies are incorporated in the agricultural processes, which enhances the crop yield production efficiency. The process of predicting the crop yield can be done by taking agriculture data, which helps to analyze and make important decisions before and during cultivation. This paper focuses on the prediction of crop yield, where two models of machine learning are developed for this work. One is Modified Convolutional Neural Network (MCNN), and the other model is TLBO (Teacher… More >

Improved Teaching-Learning-Based Optimization Algorithm for Modeling NOX Emissions of a Boiler

    Xia Li1,2, Peifeng Niu1,*, Jianping Liu2, Qing Liu2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.117, No.1, pp. 29-57, 2018, DOI:10.31614/cmes.2018.04020

Abstract An improved teaching-learning-based optimization (I-TLBO) algorithm is proposed to adjust the parameters of extreme learning machine with parallel layer perception (PELM), and a well-generalized I-TLBO-PELM model is obtained to build the model of NOX emissions of a boiler. In the I-TLBO algorithm, there are four major highlights. Firstly, a quantum initialized population by using the qubits on Bloch sphere replaces a randomly initialized population. Secondly, two kinds of angles in Bloch sphere are generated by using cube chaos mapping. Thirdly, an adaptive control parameter is added into the teacher phase to speed up the convergent speed. And then, according to… More >
