    Abstract Heavy metal contamination in the environment, resulting from human activities or natural processes, poses a significant and widespread challenge. L-glutamic (L-glu) and L-aspartic acid (L-asp) treatments have been reported to improve plant metabolism of heavy metal-exposed plants, but the role of these amino acids in the resistance to lead (Pb2+), cadmium (Cd2+), arsenic (As3+) and nickel (Ni2+) treated-bean are unclear when applied together.     Analysis of Extended Fisher-Kolmogorov Equation in 2D Utilizing the Generalized Finite Difference Method with Supplementary Nodes

    Abstract In this study, we propose an efficient numerical framework to attain the solution of the extended Fisher-Kolmogorov (EFK) problem. The temporal derivative in the EFK equation is approximated by utilizing the Crank-Nicolson scheme. Following temporal discretization, the generalized finite difference method (GFDM) with supplementary nodes is utilized to address the nonlinear boundary value problems at each time node. These supplementary nodes are distributed along the boundary to match the number of boundary nodes. By incorporating supplementary nodes, the resulting nonlinear algebraic equations can effectively satisfy the governing equation and boundary conditions of the EFK equation. More >

    Abstract An innovative pharmaceutical form for administering melatonin, based on starch orodispersible film (ODF), was designed and prepared. The composition of the ODF included starch as the polymer matrix, the active drug melatonin, and a plasticizer. Melatonin, a natural hormone produced by the pineal gland in the brain, can be absorbed by passive diffusion across the mucous membrane, resulting in improved bioavailability when compared to conventional oral administration. In addition, we evaluated the production of major cytokines (Interleukin-6 and -10) which are related to inflammation and fatty acid composition of several tissues. 16S ribosomal DNA sequencing-based microbiome taxonomic profiling analysis was performed utilizing the EzBioCloud data base.
