CAIJUAN LIU, XINGHAO LI, YUXUAN WU, JINHUI YANG, MENGHAN WANG, YUNQI MA*

    BIOCELL, Vol.48, No.3, pp. 387-401, 2024, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2024.048791

Abstract Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), the most common and aggressive primary brain tumor in adults, is the most malignant and still has no cure. However, the novel role of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the pathogenesis of glioblastoma is attracting extensive attention. LncRNAs are transcribed RNA molecules over 200 nucleotides long that do not encode proteins. Unlike small non-coding RNAs, such as microRNAs (miRNAs), lncRNAs have more complex secondary and tertiary structures that enable them to interact with DNA, RNA, and proteins and perform multiple regulatory functions. LncRNAs act as molecular sponges, absorbing and sequestering other biomolecules,… More > Graphic Abstract

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.2, pp. 383-400, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.041928

Abstract A silylated melamine sponge (SMS) was prepared by two simple steps, namely, immersion and dehydration of a melamine sponge coated with methyltrichlorosilane. The silylated structure of SMS was characterized by FT-IR (Fourier-transform infrared) spectroscopy, SEM (Scanning electron microscopy) and in terms of water contact angles. Its oil-water absorption and separation capacities were measured by FT-IR and UV-visible spectrophotometry. The experimental results have shown that oligomeric silanol covalently bonds by Si−N onto the surface of melamine sponge skeletons. SMS has shown superhydrophobicity with a water contact angle exceeding 150° ± 1°, a better separation efficiency with regard to More >

    Oncology Research, Vol.29, No.4, pp. 263-273, 2021, DOI:10.32604/or.2022.03568

Abstract The abnormal expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) is frequently observed in gastric cancer (GC) and considered an important driving force in GC progression. However, little is known regarding the involvement of TMEM147-AS1 in GC. Therefore, we examined TMEM147-AS1 expression in GC and determined its prognostic value. In addition, TMEM147-AS1 expression was depleted to identify the functional changes in response to TMEM147-AS1 deficiency. Using the cancer genome atlas dataset and our own cohort, we identified a strong expression of TMEM147-AS1 in GC. Increased TMEM147-AS1 levels in GC showed a significant association with poor prognosis. TMEM147-AS1… More >
