Unravelling Temperature Profile through Bifacial PV Modules via Finite Difference Method: Effects of Heat Internal Generation Due to Spectral Absorption

Khadija Ibaararen, Mhammed Zaimi, Khadija El Ainaoui, El Mahdi Assaid*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.122, No.9, pp. 3487-3505, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ee.2025.067422 - 26 August 2025

Abstract This study investigates the complex heat transfer dynamics in multilayer bifacial photovoltaic (bPV) solar modules under spectrally resolved solar irradiation. A novel numerical model is developed to incorporate internal heat generation resulting from optical absorption, grounded in the physical equations governing light-matter interactions within the module’s multilayer structure. The model accounts for reflection and transmission at each interface between adjacent layers, as well as absorption within individual layers, using the wavelength-dependent dielectric properties of constituent materials. These properties are used to calculate the spectral reflectance, transmittance, and absorption coefficients, enabling precise quantification of internal heat… More >

Structural and Physicochemical Properties of Dust and Their Effect on Solar Modules Efficiency in Agadir-Morocco

Abdellah Asbayou*, Ahmed Ihlal, Ismail Isknan, Ahmed Soussi, Lahoussine Bouhouch

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.5, pp. 2249-2264, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.025456 - 13 February 2023

Abstract Experiments of soiling effects on the performances of a PV panel have been performed using dust collected from two sites in the region of Agadir-Morocco. The optical transmittance of the front glass was found to depend on the nature and density of dust. The nature of dust was studied by means of scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy. It was found that the granulometry of dust particles depends on the study area. For a dust density of around 20 g/m², the maximum power Pmax of the solar panel decreases drastically from 30 to More > Graphic Abstract

DC–DC Converter with Pi Controller for BLDC Motor Fuzzy Drive System

    S. Pandeeswari1,*, S. Jaganathan2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2811-2825, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.029945 - 21 December 2022

Abstract The Brushless DC Motor drive systems are used widely with renewable energy resources. The power converter controlling technique increases the performance by novel techniques and algorithms. Conventional approaches are mostly focused on buck converter, Fuzzy logic control with various switching activity. In this proposed research work, the QPSO (Quantum Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm) is used on the switching state of converter from the generation unit of solar module. Through the duty cycle pulse from optimization function, the MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) of the Boost converter gets switched when BLDC (Brushless Direct Current Motor) motor drive system requires… More >
