Temporal and Regional Differences in Congenital Heart Surgery in China (2017–2022): Trends and Implications

    Zheng Guo1, Li Xie2, Ju Zhao3, Xing Hao3, Xiaotong Hou3, Wei Wang1,*

    Congenital Heart Disease, Vol.19, No.4, pp. 341-350, 2024, DOI:10.32604/chd.2024.057403 - 31 October 2024

Abstract Background: With the decline of birth population and the development of medical technology in China, studies assessing how these changes have affected the adoption of congenital heart disease surgery at the national or regional scale are lacking. Methods: We investigated the status of congenital heart surgery in China in the period from 2017–2022, through investigation of the total rates of cardiac surgeries, cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), adult congenital heart surgeries (CHS), and pediatric CHS (<18 years old), as recorded by the Extracorporeal Circulation Branch of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering. Subsequently, we evaluated correlations between… More >

Study on Comprehensive Efficiency Evaluation of Rural Power Grid under Rural Revitalization Strategy Considering Regional Differences

    Huiru Zhao1, Manyu Yao1,*, Zhenqi Bai1, Yue Zhang2, Zhihua Ding3, Zhenda Hu4

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.10, pp. 2211-2231, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.029371 - 28 September 2023

Abstract As an essential infrastructure, the rural power grid is vital in promoting agricultural and rural carbon sequestration and improving rural energy electrification. It is necessary to carry out in-depth research on its comprehensive efficiency. Based on the requirements of “double carbon” and rural revitalization strategy for the rural Power Grid, this paper focuses on the modernization and low-carbon transformation of the rural Power Grid. It constructs an input-output index system for the investment efficiency of the rural Power Grid in China under the new situation. It uses the primary data of the rural Power Grid… More >

Assessment of Electricity Productivity in China: Regional Differences and Convergence

    Pinjie Xie1,*, Ying Zhai1, Fan Yang1,2, Zhuowen Mu3, Chao Wang4

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.5, pp. 1353-1374, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.014970 - 16 July 2021

Abstract Electricity productivity is regarded as a major assessment indicator in the design of energy saving policies, given that China has entered a “New Normal” of economic development. In fact, enhancing electricity productivity in an all-round way, as is one of the binding indicators for energy and environmental issues, means that non-growth target of total electric energy consumption in the economic development is feasible. The Gini coefficient, Theil index, and Mean log deviation are utilized to measure regional differences in China’s electricity productivity from 1997 to 2016 in five regions, and conditional β convergence is empirically analyzed… More >
