Predicting the International Roughness Index of JPCP and CRCP Rigid Pavement: A Random Forest (RF) Model Hybridized with Modified Beetle Antennae Search (MBAS) for Higher Accuracy

    Zhou Ji1, Mengmeng Zhou2, Qiang Wang2, Jiandong Huang3,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.2, pp. 1557-1582, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.046025 - 29 January 2024

Abstract To improve the prediction accuracy of the International Roughness Index (IRI) of Jointed Plain Concrete Pavements (JPCP) and Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavements (CRCP), a machine learning approach is developed in this study for the modelling, combining an improved Beetle Antennae Search (MBAS) algorithm and Random Forest (RF) model. The 10-fold cross-validation was applied to verify the reliability and accuracy of the model proposed in this study. The importance scores of all input variables on the IRI of JPCP and CRCP were analysed as well. The results by the comparative analysis showed the prediction accuracy of… More > Graphic Abstract

    Oncology Research, Vol.32, No.2, pp. 339-351, 2024, DOI:10.32604/or.2023.030887 - 28 December 2023

Abstract Background: Invasive breast carcinoma (BRCA) is associated with poor prognosis and high risk of mortality. Therefore, it is critical to identify novel biomarkers for the prognostic assessment of BRCA. Methods: The expression data of polo-like kinase 1 (PLK1) in BRCA and the corresponding clinical information were extracted from TCGA and GEO databases. PLK1 expression was validated in diverse breast cancer cell lines by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and western blotting. Single sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) was performed to evaluate immune infiltration in the BRCA microenvironment, and the random forest (RF) and… More >

    B. Yasotha1,*, T. Sasikala2, M. Krishnamurthy3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.2, pp. 1625-1640, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.025669 - 03 November 2022

Abstract The internet has become a part of every human life. Also, various devices that are connected through the internet are increasing. Nowadays, the Industrial Internet of things (IIoT) is an evolutionary technology interconnecting various industries in digital platforms to facilitate their development. Moreover, IIoT is being used in various industrial fields such as logistics, manufacturing, metals and mining, gas and oil, transportation, aviation, and energy utilities. It is mandatory that various industrial fields require highly reliable security and preventive measures against cyber-attacks. Intrusion detection is defined as the detection in the network of security threats… More >

An Efficient Ensemble Model for Various Scale Medical Data

Heba A. Elzeheiry*, Sherief Barakat, Amira Rezk

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 1283-1305, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.027345 - 18 May 2022

Abstract Electronic Health Records (EHRs) are the digital form of patients’ medical reports or records. EHRs facilitate advanced analytics and aid in better decision-making for clinical data. Medical data are very complicated and using one classification algorithm to reach good results is difficult. For this reason, we use a combination of classification techniques to reach an efficient and accurate classification model. This model combination is called the Ensemble model. We need to predict new medical data with a high accuracy value in a small processing time. We propose a new ensemble model MDRL which is efficient… More >

Abstract In the current times, COVID-19 has taken a handful of people’s lives. So, vaccination is crucial for everyone to avoid the spread of the disease. However, not every vaccine will be perfect or will get success for everyone. In the present work, we have analyzed the data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System and understood that the vaccines given to the people might or might not work considering certain demographic factors like age, gender, and multiple other variables like the state of living, etc. This variable is considered because it explains the unmentioned variables… More >

A Global Training Model for Beat Classification Using Basic Electrocardiogram Morphological Features

    Shubha Sumesh1, John Yearwood1, Shamsul Huda1 and Shafiq Ahmad2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 4503-4521, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.015474 - 11 October 2021

    Abstract

Clinical Study and automatic diagnosis of electrocardiogram (ECG) data always remain a challenge in diagnosing cardiovascular activities. The analysis of ECG data relies on various factors like morphological features, classification techniques, methods or models used to diagnose and its performance improvement. Another crucial factor in the methodology is how to train the model for each patient. Existing approaches use standard training model which faces challenges when training data has variation due to individual patient characteristics resulting in a lower detection accuracy. This paper proposes an adaptive approach to identify performance improvement in building a training model
