Xin Mao*, Hongsheng Su, Jingxiu Li

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.12, pp. 3929-3951, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.057106 - 22 November 2024

Abstract The virtual synchronous generator (VSG) technology has been proposed to address the problem of system frequency and active power oscillation caused by grid-connected new energy power sources. However, the traditional voltage-current double-closed-loop control used in VSG has the disadvantages of poor disturbance immunity and insufficient dynamic response. In light of the issues above, a virtual synchronous generator voltage outer-loop control strategy based on improved linear autonomous disturbance rejection control (ILADRC) is put forth for consideration. Firstly, an improved first-order linear self-immunity control structure is established for the characteristics of the voltage outer loop; then, the… More >

Jin Zhou, Minjie Shao*, Ye Tian, Qi Xia*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.141, No.2, pp. 1327-1345, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.054059 - 27 September 2024

Abstract By analyzing the results of compliance minimization of thermoelastic structures, we observed that microstructures play an important role in this optimization problem. Then, we propose to use a multiple variable cutting (M–VCUT) level set-based model of microstructures to solve the concurrent two–scale topology optimization of thermoelastic structures. A microstructure is obtained by combining multiple virtual microstructures that are derived respectively from multiple microstructure prototypes, thus giving more diversity of microstructure and more flexibility in design optimization. The effective mechanical properties of microstructures are computed in an off-line phase by using the homogenization method, and then More >

Shupeng Qiu, Chujin Lin, Wei Zhao*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.1, pp. 1119-1134, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030915 - 30 December 2023

Abstract In this paper, we consider the Chan–Vese (C-V) model for image segmentation and obtain its numerical solution accurately and efficiently. For this purpose, we present a local radial basis function method based on a Gaussian kernel (GA-LRBF) for spatial discretization. Compared to the standard radial basis function method, this approach consumes less CPU time and maintains good stability because it uses only a small subset of points in the whole computational domain. Additionally, since the Gaussian function has the property of dimensional separation, the GA-LRBF method is suitable for dealing with isotropic images. Finally, a More > Graphic Abstract

    Lianghao Hua1,2, Jianfeng Zhang1,*, Dejie Li3, Xiaobo Xi1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.3, pp. 2129-2157, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030535 - 15 December 2023

Abstract With the increasing prevalence of high-order systems in engineering applications, these systems often exhibit significant disturbances and can be challenging to model accurately. As a result, the active disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) has been widely applied in various fields. However, in controlling plant protection unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which are typically large and subject to significant disturbances, load disturbances and the possibility of multiple actuator faults during pesticide spraying pose significant challenges. To address these issues, this paper proposes a novel fault-tolerant control method that combines a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) with a More > Graphic Abstract

Comprehensive Simulation of Hot Shape Rolling by Considering the Casting Defects

    Umut Hanoglu1,2,*, Božidar Šarler1,2

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.2, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09610

Abstract In this research, a rolling simulation system based on a novel meshless solution procedure is upgraded considering casting defects in the material model. The improved model can predict the final stage of the defects after multi-pass rolling. The casted steel billet that enters the rolling mill arrives with casting defects. Those defects may be porosity due to the shrinkage and cavity or micro-cracks near the surface due to hot tearing. In this work, porosity is considered the main defect source since it can easily be determined experimentally. The damage theory develops a damaged stiffness matrix… More >

    Qingguo Liu1,2, Umut Hanoglu1,2, Božidar Šarler1,2,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.2, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09609

Abstract A simulation of reheating furnace in a steel production line where the steel billets are heated from room temperature up to 1200 ˚C, is carried out using a novel meshless solution procedure. The reheating of the steel billets before the continuous hot-rolling process should be employed to dissolve alloying elements as much as possible and redistribute the carbon. In this work, governing equations are solved by the local radial basis function collocation method (LRBFCM) in a strong form with explicit time-stepping. The solution of the diffusion equations for the temperature and carbon concentration fields is… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.1, pp. 1163-1184, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.038912 - 26 May 2023

Abstract Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) ensembles have long suffered from non-efficient training, where incorrect parameter settings can be computationally disastrous. This paper examines different evolutionary algorithms for training the Symbolic Radial Basis Function Neural Network (SRBFNN) through the behavior’s integration of satisfiability programming. Inspired by evolutionary algorithms, which can iteratively find the near-optimal solution, different Evolutionary Algorithms (EAs) were designed to optimize the producer output weight of the SRBFNN that corresponds to the embedded logic programming 2Satisfiability representation (SRBFNN-2SAT). The SRBFNN’s objective function that corresponds to Satisfiability logic programming can be minimized by different… More >
