Abstract MicroRNA (miR)-200b-3p has been associated with many tumors, but its involvement in pituitary adenoma is unclear. This study investigated the molecular mechanism underlying miR-200b-3p regulation in pituitary adenomas to provide a theoretical basis for treatment. Bioinformatics was used to analyze pituitary adenoma-related genes and screen new targets related to RECK and miRNA. As well, the relationship between miR-200b-3p and RECK protein was verified using a double-luciferase reporter gene assay. The expression of miR-200b-3p in clinical samples was analyzed by in situ hybridization. Transfection of the miR-200b-3p inhibitor and small interfering-RECK (si-RECK) was verified by qPCR. CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.2, pp. 1441-1455, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.024534 - 06 February 2023

Abstract In recent years, a number of wireless indoor positioning (WIP), such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technologies, are emerging. However, the indoor environment is complex and changeable. Walls, pillars, and even pedestrians may block wireless signals and produce non-line-of-sight (NLOS) deviations, resulting in decreased positioning accuracy and the inability to provide people with real-time continuous indoor positioning. This work proposed a strong tracking particle filter based on the chi-square test (SPFC) for indoor positioning. SPFC can fuse indoor wireless signals and the information of the inertial sensing unit (IMU) in the smartphone and detect More >

Freckles, a blemish of onion bulbs caused by Sclerotium sp.

    Kiehr M, R Delhey

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.80, pp. 221-225, 2011, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2011.80.221

Abstract Freckles is a new blemish of white-scaled onion bulbs in the Lower Rio Colorado Valley (Argentina) characterized by the formation of small sclerotia imbedded in the dry scale tissue. The causal agent has been isolated from scales and symptomless roots of onion and was identified as Sclerotium sp. Although in its host range and morphology it resembles Sclerotium cepivorum, it is quite different with respect to other cultural and pathological traits. In inoculation experiments, onion and garlic plants could be infected and the typical sclerotia were formed, but no rot, a symptom characteristic for S. cepivorum, nor any More >
