    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.10, pp. 2769-2776, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.052680

Abstract Solving intrinsic structural problems such as low conductivity is the main challenge to promote the commercial application of Li2TiSiO5. In this study, Li2TiSiO5 is synthesized by the sol-gel method, and the surface modification of Li2TiSiO5 is carried out at different temperatures using low-temperature plasma to enhance its lithium storage performance. The morphological structure and electrochemical tests demonstrate that plasma treatment can improve the degree of agglomeration. The peak position of the plasma-treated Li2TiSiO5 is shifted to a lower angle, and the shift angle increases with increasing sputtering power. Li2TiSiO5 after 300 W bombardment shows excellent capacity (144.7 mA·hg−1 More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.12, No.8, pp. 1399-1416, 2024, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2024.052669

Abstract This study focuses on treating Guadua angustifolia bamboo fibers to enhance their properties for reinforcement applications in composite materials. Chemical (alkali) and physical (dry etching plasma) treatments were used separately to augment compatibility of Guadua angustifolia fibers with various composite matrices. The influence of these treatments on the fibers’ performance, chemical composition, and surface morphology were analyzed. Statistical analysis indicated that alkali treatments reduced the tensile modulus of elasticity and strength of fibers by up to 40% and 20%, respectively, whereas plasma treatments maintain the fibers’ mechanical performance. FTIR spectroscopy revealed significant alterations in chemical composition due More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract Complex plasma widely exists in thin film deposition, material surface modification, and waste gas treatment in industrial plasma processes. During complex plasma discharge, the configuration, distribution, and size of particles, as well as the discharge glow, strongly depend on discharge parameters. However, traditional manual diagnosis methods for recognizing discharge parameters from discharge images are complicated to operate with low accuracy, time-consuming and high requirement of instruments. To solve these problems, by combining the two mechanisms of attention mechanism (strengthening the extraction of the channel feature) and shortcut connection (enabling the input information to be directly… More >

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.1, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09494

Abstract Dramatically increase of the amount of the failed satellites is posing a serious threat to the normal orbiting satellites. To avoid potential collisions, it is important to remove the failed satellites, and the first step is to detumble these uncontrolled targets. This study proposes an efficient calculation method for the failed satellite de-tumbling system. The plasma plume generated by Hall effect thruster on chaser is used as noncontact de-tumbling medium, which reduces fuel consumption and collision risk [1]. The plasma plume is composed of a variety of particles with strong disorder, so it is difficult… More >

    Hongqian Zhao1,2, Honghua Dai1,2,*, Xiaokui Yue1,2

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09294

Abstract Detumbling is a crucial first step for on-orbit service and space debris removal. Plume is an efficient medium for failed spacecraft detumbling which can avoid direct contact to ensure the safety of the spacecraft. However, traditional molecular plume may lead to an unaffordable fuel consumption. This paper proposes a novel detumbling strategy by using plasma plume with the popularization of Hall effect thrusters on spacecraft. To overcome the difficulty of real-time calculation in traditional models, a fully analytical plasma plume model is established which can improve the autonomy of the chaser[1]. An optimal detumbling guidance… More >

Abstract Plasma therapy is an extensively used treatment for critically unwell patients. For this procedure, a legitimate plasma donor who can continue to supply plasma after healing is needed. However, significant dangers are associated with supply management, such as the ambiguous provenance of plasma and the spread of infected or subpar blood into medicinal fabrication. Also, from an ideological standpoint, less powerful people may be exploited throughout the contribution process. Moreover, there is a danger to the logistics system because there are now just some plasma shippers. This research intends to investigate the blockchain-based solution for More >

Abstract The extraction of traveling wave solutions for nonlinear evolution equations is a challenge in various mathematics, physics, and engineering disciplines. This article intends to analyze several traveling wave solutions for the modified regularized long-wave (MRLW) equation using several approaches, namely, the generalized algebraic method, the Jacobian elliptic functions technique, and the improved Q-expansion strategy. We successfully obtain analytical solutions consisting of rational, trigonometric, and hyperbolic structures. The adaptive moving mesh technique is applied to approximate the numerical solution of the proposed equation. The adaptive moving mesh method evenly distributes the points on the high error areas.
