A Systematic Review of Frameworks for the Detection and Prevention of Card-Not-Present (CNP) Fraud

Kwabena Owusu-Mensah*, Edward Danso Ansong , Kofi Sarpong Adu-Manu, Winfred Yaokumah

    Journal of Cyber Security, Vol.8, pp. 33-92, 2026, DOI:10.32604/jcs.2026.074265 - 20 January 2026

Abstract The rapid growth of digital payment systems and remote financial services has led to a significant increase in Card-Not-Present (CNP) fraud, which is now the primary source of card-related losses worldwide. Traditional rule-based fraud detection methods are becoming insufficient due to several challenges, including data imbalance, concept drift, privacy concerns, and limited interpretability. In response to these issues, a systematic review of twenty-four CNP fraud detection frameworks developed between 2014 and 2025 was conducted. This review aimed to identify the technologies, strategies, and design considerations necessary for adaptive solutions that align with evolving regulatory standards.… More >

Fully Authentication Services Scheme for NFC Mobile Payment Systems

    Munefah Alshammari*, Shadi Nashwan

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.1, pp. 401-428, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022065 - 26 October 2021

Abstract One commonly used wireless communication technology is Near-Field Communication (NFC). Smartphones that support this technology are used in contactless payment systems as identification devices to emulate credit cards. This technology has essentially focused on the quality of communication services and has somewhat disregarded security services. Communication messages between smartphones, the point of sale (POS), and service providers are susceptible to attack due to existing weaknesses, including that an adversary can access, block and modify the transmitted messages to achieve illegal goals. Therefore, there have been many research proposals in regards to authentication schemes for NFC… More >

Research on E-Commerce Transaction Payment System Basedf on C4.5 Decision Tree Data Mining Algorithm

    Bing Xu1,∗, Darong Huang2,†, Bo Mi3,‡

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 113-121, 2020, DOI:10.32604/csse.2020.35.113

Abstract In this paper, according to the information classification algorithm in data mining, data in the network payment system of e-commerce is mined, forming an effective evaluation of the security of the network payment system. Firstly, the method of network security risk prediction is discussed. Secondly, according to the characteristics of network payment system, the system security index system is analyzed in detail, and the specific application process of the C4.5 Classification Algorithm in security evaluation is discussed. Finally, the data mining process is designed in detail and the corresponding code established. In this paper, data More >
