    Mohammed Ayad Alkhafaji1, Yunus Uzun2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 709-732, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.024236 - 05 January 2023

Abstract This paper explains step-by-step modeling and simulation of the full circuits of a battery control system and connected together starting from the AC input source to the battery control and storage system. The three-phase half-controlled rectifier has been designed to control and convert the AC power into DC power. In addition, two types of direct current converters have been used in this paper which are a buck and bidirectional DC/DC converters. These systems adjust the output voltage to be lower or higher than the input voltage. In the buck converters, the main switch operates in… More >

    Aravind Athimoolam1,*, Karthik Balasubramanian2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1331-1347, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.033465 - 05 January 2023

Abstract This paper focuses on the development of a diagnostic tool for detecting insulated gate bipolar transistor power electronic switch flaws caused by both open and short circuit faults in multi-level inverter time-frequency output voltage specifications. High-resolution laboratory virtual instrument engineering workbench software testing tool with a sample rate data collection system, as well as specialized signal processing and soft computing technologies, are used in this proposed method. On a single-phase cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter, simulation and experimental investigations of both open and short issues of the insulated gate bipolar transistor components are performed out. Computerised Gate Firing Control for 17-Level MLI using Staircase PWM

    M. Geetha1,*, R. Vijayabhasker2, Suresh Seetharaman1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.1, pp. 813-832, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.025575 - 01 June 2022

Abstract A basic 7-level MLI topology is developed and the same is extended to the 9-level then further increased to 17-levels. The developed structure minimizes the component’s count and size to draw out the system economy. Despite the various advantages of MLIs, efficiency and reliability play a major role since the usage of components is higher for getting a low Total Harmonics Distortion (THD) value. This becomes a major challenge incorporated in boosting the efficiency without affecting the THD value. Various parametric observations are done and realized for the designed 9-level and 17-level MLI, being the… More >

Design of fast and zero voltage switching of interleaved flyback converter with H6 type inverter for photovoltaic applications

    S. Saravanakumar1, Arulmozhiyal R2,3, Murali M4

    Revista Internacional de Métodos Numéricos para Cálculo y Diseño en Ingeniería, Vol.38, No.4, pp. 1-11, 2022, DOI:10.23967/j.rimni.2022.09.006 - 05 October 2022

Abstract In this paper, a design of interleaved flyback converter with H6 inverter topology is proposed. Flyback converter is one among the DC-DC converter with high frequency which is used or low power applications. Because of high frequency operation switching losses and stresses are more. To reduce stresses and losses across the switch of interleaved flyback converter is proposed. In the grid tied inverter system leakage current is one of the disadvantages and to avoid this H6 type inverter is used. With this advantage of H6 inverter andflyback converter this paper is mainly focused on stresses across More >

Design and Analysis of Cascaded Hybrid-Bridge Multi-Cell Multilevel Inverter with Reduced Total Harmonic Distortion Profile

    Bulbul Sharma1,*, N. Karthick1, Durgesh Prasad Bagarty2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.6, pp. 2585-2605, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.021465 - 14 September 2022

Abstract This multilevel inverter methodology is the center of focus among researchers in recent era. It has been focused due to its advantages over existing topologies, drawbacks and improvement of power quality, Multi-level inverter has the ability to generate nearly sinusoidal waves. This sinusoidal wave can be further improved by increasing the level of output voltage or with the help of filter design, and this manuscript presents single-phase Multi cell Multi-Level Inverter (MLI). It has been considered for reducing component count to get a higher number of output voltage levels and lower Total harmonics distortion profile.… More >

A Dual Arm Complementary Hybrid Modulation Strategy Combining NL-SPWM for MMC Applications

    Mingwan Mei1, Ping Wang1, Yanbo Che1,*, Zihan Lv1, Zmarrak Wali Khanand1, Chao Xing1,2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.2, pp. 591-607, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.016585 - 24 January 2022

    Abstract

In the medium voltage direct current (MVDC) transmission system, a small number of MMC sub modules will reduce the power quality. In this paper, based on the research background of Photovoltaic Medium Voltage Direct Current (PV-MVDC) system, a Hybrid Modulation Strategy based on the Decoupled Double Synchronous Reference Frame (DDSRF) control strategy is proposed. The dual arm complementary hybrid modulation combining nearest-level-SPWM (NL-SPWM) can keep the number of SMs in the ON state constant. Then, the corresponding voltage sharing control algorithm of sub module (SM) is introduced. Through theoretical calculation, the modulation strategy can be found

    M. P. Viswanathan*, B. Anand

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.42, No.1, pp. 165-181, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.020400 - 02 December 2021

Abstract In this research work, single-stage fifteen levels cascaded DC-interface converter (CDDCLC) is proposed for sun arranged photovoltaic technology (PV) applications. The proposed geography is joined with help DC chopper and H-associate inverter to upgrade the power converter to accomplish the diminished harmonic profile. In assessment with the customary inverter structures, the proposed system is used with diminished voltage stress, decreased switch count and DC source tally. The proposed research work with cascaded DC link converter design requires three DC sources for combining fifteen-level AC output. This investigation structure switching technique is phase opposition and disposition More >
