Impact of Different Rooftop Coverings on Photovoltaic Panel Temperature

    Aws Al-Akam1,*, Ahmed A. Abduljabbar2, Ali Jaber Abdulhamed1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.12, pp. 3761-3777, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.055198 - 22 November 2024

Abstract Photovoltaic (PV) panels are essential to the global transition towards sustainable energy, offering a clean, renewable source that reduces reliance on fossil fuels and mitigates climate change. High temperatures can significantly affect the performance of photovoltaic (PV) panels by reducing their efficiency and power output. This paper explores the consequential effect of various rooftop coverings on the thermal performance of photovoltaic (PV) panels. It investigates the relationship between the type of rooftop covering materials and the efficiency of PV panels, considering the thermal performance and its implications for enhancing their overall performance and sustainability. Structural and Physicochemical Properties of Dust and Their Effect on Solar Modules Efficiency in Agadir-Morocco

Abdellah Asbayou*, Ahmed Ihlal, Ismail Isknan, Ahmed Soussi, Lahoussine Bouhouch

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.5, pp. 2249-2264, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.025456 - 13 February 2023

Abstract Experiments of soiling effects on the performances of a PV panel have been performed using dust collected from two sites in the region of Agadir-Morocco. The optical transmittance of the front glass was found to depend on the nature and density of dust. The nature of dust was studied by means of scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy. It was found that the granulometry of dust particles depends on the study area. For a dust density of around 20 g/m², the maximum power Pmax of the solar panel decreases drastically from 30 to More > Graphic Abstract

Transformer Less Grid Integrated Single Phase PV Inverter Using Prognosticative Control

    Chandla Ellis1,*, C. Chellamuthu1, J. Jayaseelan2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.2, pp. 1121-1138, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023079 - 08 February 2022

Abstract Nature's remarkable and merciful gift to the planet Earth is sunlight which may be highly lucrative if harvested and harnessed properly. Photovoltaic (PV) panels are used to convert the solar energy to electrical energy which are currently used to feed AC loads/grid. In this paper, modelling, performance and power flow studies of grid connected single phase inverter fed from PV array under steady state as well as transient conditions are considered. This paper focuses on the study and development of analytical model of micro-grid integrated single phase five level cascaded H-bridge inverter (MGISPFLCHBPVI) powered by… More >
