    Abstract Polymer bonded explosives (PBXs) are one of typical heterogeneous materials comprised of solid energetic particles surrounded by a polymer binder. PBXs are widely encountered in various applications such as rocket propellants and main explosive charges. PBXs can ignite or detonate due to an accidental impact loading, which usually leads to serious losses to personnel and property. Therefore, safety of PBXs regarding to various loading conditions is of great concern.

    Abstract Long noncoding RNA urothelial carcinoma-associated 1 (lncRNA UCA1) has gained more attention in recent years due to its oncogenic roles in various cancers. MicroRNA-144 (miR-144) participates in the regulation of the growth of many cancer cells. This study investigated the interaction between lncRNA UCA1 and miR-144 in lung cancer cells. The potential downstream protein of miR-144 was also assessed.     Abstract Hematopoietic pre-B-cell leukemia transcription factor (PBX)-interacting protein (HPIP/PBXIP1) is a corepressor for the transcription factor PBX. Previous studies showed that HPIP is frequently overexpressed in many tumors. However, the role of HPIP in head-and-neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) has not yet been determined.     Abstract The macroscopic deformation and fracture behavior of a polymer bonded explosive (PBX) simulation material were studied by using Digital Image Correlation (DIC) method. The Brazilian test, semi-circular bending test, punch loading and uniaxial loading experiments were chosen for the study. The whole displacement and strain fields were obtained by using DIC method at macro-scale. New sights into fracture processes and failure mechanisms of simulant samples under different quasi-static loading conditions have been obtained.
