The Effect of Heating Rate on Sintering Mechanism of Alumina Nanoparticles

    Dangqiang Wang1, Hai Mei1,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.1, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09455

Abstract The densification process of sintered alumina is mainly controlled by surface, lattice, and interface diffusion, and many experimental researches show that heating rate can affect the transfer of matter. Thus, to further reveal the effect of heating rate on sintering mechanism of alumina nanoparticle, molecular dynamic simulations were performed at five different heating rates to examine the migration of atoms and evolution of microstructure in heating stage. Results show that the sintering process of heating is a typical thermal activation process. High displacement response temperature is caused by high heating rate, which results in the mechanism of atomic migration quickly… More >

    AFAF ALHARTHI*

    BIOCELL, Vol.47, No.8, pp. 1743-1755, 2023, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.027154

Abstract Natural biomaterials are now frequently used to build biocarrier systems, which can carry medications and biomolecules to a target region and achieve a desired therapeutic effect. Biomaterials and polymers are of great importance in the synthesis of nanomaterials. The recent studies have tended to use these materials because they are easily obtained from natural sources such as fungi, algae, bacteria, and medicinal plants. They are also biodegradable, compatible with neighborhoods, and non-toxic. Natural biomaterials and polymers are chemically changed when they are linked by cross linking agents with other polymers to create scaffolds, matrices, composites, and interpenetrating polymer networks employing… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-13, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.29

Abstract In this article, the heat, momentum and mass (species) transfer in external boundary layer flow of Casson nanofluid from an isothermal sphere surface is studied theoretically. The effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis are incorporated in the model in the presence of both heat and nanoparticle mass transfer. The governing partial differential equations (PDEs) are transformed into highly nonlinear, coupled, multi-degree non-similar partial differential equations consisting of the momentum, energy and concentration equations via appropriate non-similarity transformations. These transformed conservation equations are solved subject to appropriate boundary conditions with a second order accurate finite difference method of the implicit type.… More >

Abstract Mixed convection flows of nanofluid past an inclined stretching sheet with g-jitter effect is studied in this paper. Water based nanofluid containing copper, copper oxide, aluminium oxide and silver nanoparticles are concerned. Coupled nonlinear partial differential equations are solved using Kellerbox method. The effect of solid nanoparticles volume fraction parameter, frequency of oscillation and inclination angle parameter is observed to reduce the skin friction and heat transfer coefficients whereas mixed convection parameter increases both skin friction and heat transfer coefficients. Present study also shows that, the heat transfer coefficient is highest for silver nanofluid. More >

    A. Maouassia,b,*, A. Baghidjaa,b, S. Douadc , N. Zeraibic

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-7, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.35

Abstract This paper illustrates how practical application of nanofluids as working fluid to enhance solar flat plate collector efficiency. A numerical investigation of laminar convective heat transfer flow throw a solar collector is conducted, by using CuO-water nanofluids. The effectiveness of these nanofluids is compared to conventional working fluid (water), wherein Reynolds number and nanoparticle volume concentration in the ranges of 25– 900 and 0–10 % respectively. The effects of Reynolds number and nanoparticles concentration on the skin-friction and heat transfer coefficients are presented and discussed later in this paper. Results show that the heat transfer increases with increasing both nanoparticles… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.31

Abstract This study reports the flow, thermal and concentration attributes of magnetic-nanofluids past an elongated plate with thermal radiation and chemical reaction. The flow considered is two-dimensional and time-dependent. The pressure gradient and ohmic heating terms are neglected in this analysis. The flow governing PDEs are transformed into ODEs using appropriate conversions. Further, the set of ODEs are solved analytically using perturbation technique. The flow quantities such as velocity, thermal and concentration fields are discussed under the influence of various pertinent parameters namely volume fraction of nanoparticle, magnetic field, stretching parameter, Soret number, radiation and chemical reaction with the assistance of… More >

    Oncology Research, Vol.31, No.4, pp. 463-479, 2023, DOI:10.32604/or.2023.028791

Abstract Accumulating evidence has indicated that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play critical roles in the development and progression of cancers, including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). However, the mechanisms of lncRNAs in ESCC are still incompletely understood and therapeutic attempts for in vivo targeting cancer-associated lncRNA remain a challenge. By RNA-sequencing analysis, we identified that LLNLR-299G3.1 was a novel ESCC-associated lncRNA. LLNLR-299G3.1 was up-regulated in ESCC tissues and cells and promoted ESCC cell proliferation and invasion. Silencing of LLNLR-299G3.1 with ASO (antisense oligonucleotide) resulted in opposite effects. Mechanistically, LLNLR-299G3.1 bound to cancer-associated RNA binding proteins and regulated the expression of cancer-related… More >
