Sustainability Intelligent Evaluation of Regional Microgrid Interconnection System Based on Combination Entropy Weight Rank Order-TOPSIS and NILA-KELM

    Haichao Wang1, Yingying Fan2,3,*, Weigao Meng4, Qiaoran Yang5

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.3, pp. 1075-1101, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.019584 - 31 March 2022

Abstract Sustainability evaluation of regional microgrid interconnection system is conducive to a profound and comprehensive understanding of the impact of interconnection system projects. In order to realize the comprehensive and scientific intelligent evaluation of the system, this paper proposes an evaluation model based on combination entropy weight rank order-technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS) and Niche Immune Lion Algorithm-Extreme Learning Machine with Kernel (NILA-KELM). Firstly, the sustainability evaluation indicator system of the regional microgrid interconnection system is constructed from four aspects of economic, environmental, social, and technical characteristics, and the evaluation… More >

Novel Unilateral Dental Expander Appliance (UDEX): A Compound Innovative Materials

    Hasan Sabah Hasan1,*, Abdallah A. Abdallah2, Imran Khan3, Hala Sadek Alosman4, Ayshan Kolemen5, Bilal Alhayani6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.3, pp. 3499-3511, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015968 - 06 May 2021

Abstract True unilateral posterior crossbite in adults is a challenging malocclusion to treat, especially when we need to correct cross-arch segments with unwanted effects on non-cross segments. Conventional expansion methods are expected to have some shortcomings; the Unilateral dental expander appliance used to restore unilateral cross bite dental arch is an uncommon appliance; for this, a designed new device is needed. This paper aimed to invite a new unilateral dental expander appliance (UDEX) to treat unilateral dental posterior crossbite in adults using available dental material, easy to use and handle, well tolerated by the patient, and… More >

WT-1 mRNA expression is modulated by nitric oxide availability and Hsp70 interaction after neonatal unilateral ureteral

    LUCIANA MAZZEI1, ISABEL MERCEDES GARCÍA1, VALERIA CACCIAMANI1, MARÍA EUGENIA BENARDÓN1 AND WALTER MANUCHA1, 2, 3

    BIOCELL, Vol.34, No.3, pp. 121-132, 2010, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2010.34.121

Abstract Wilms tumor gene 1 (wt-1), a key regulator of mesenchymal-epithelial transformation, is downregulated during congenital obstructive nephropathy, leading to apoptosis. There is a functional interaction between WT-1 and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS). In this regard, we reported that after neonatal unilateral ureteral obstruction, rosuvastatin prevents apoptosis through an increase in nitric oxide bioavailability, which in turn is linked to higher Hsp70 expression. Hence, the goal of this study was to determine whether a nitric oxide/Hsp70 interaction is involved in changes in WT-1 mRNA expression after ureteral obstruction. Neonatal rats submitted to experimental ureteral obstruction were… More >

Optimal Plastic Synthesis of Structures with Unilateral Supports Involving Frictional Contact

    S. Tangaramvong, F. Tin-Loi

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.49, No.3, pp. 269-296, 2009, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2009.049.269

Abstract We consider the optimal synthesis, namely minimum weight design, of rigid perfectly-plastic structures for which some supports involve unilateral frictional contact. This problem is of interest as it is not only encountered in practice but it also involves, in the general friction case, a nonassociative complementarity condition that makes it theoretically and numerically challenging. For simplicity of exposition, we focus on the class of bar structures for which yielding is governed by either pure bending or by combined axial and flexural forces. In view of possible multiplicity of solutions due to nonassociativity, a direct optimization More >

Variational formulation and Nonsmooth Optimization Algorithms in Elastostatic Contact Problems for Cracked Body

    V.V. Zozulya1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.42, No.3, pp. 187-216, 2009, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2009.042.187

Abstract The mathematical statement for contact problem with unilateral restrictions and friction is done in classical and weak forms. Different variational formulation of unilateral contact problems with friction based on principles of virtual displacements and virtual stresses are considered. Especially boundary variational functionals that are used with boundary integral equations have been established. Nonsmooth optimization algorithms of Udzawa type for solution of unilateral contact problem with friction have been developed. Some theoretical results of existence and uniqueness in elastostatic unilateral contact problem with friction are outlined. More >

Review : Biochemical-molecular markers in unilateral ureteral obstruction

    WALTER MANUCHA

    BIOCELL, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 1-12, 2007, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2007.31.001

Abstract Congenital obstructive nephropathy is the primary cause of end-stage renal disease in children. Rapid diagnosis and initiation of the treatment are vital to preserve function and/or to slow down renal injury. Obstructive uropathy effects -decline in the plasmatic renal flow and glomerular filtration rate, interstitial infiltrate of leukocytes, significant decrease of the urine concentration, loss of the capacity to concentrate urine as well as fibrosis and apoptosis- are a consequence of a variety of factors that work in complex ways and are still not fully understood. Mediators as angiotensin II, transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) and… More >

Nonlinear Analysis of Pin-Jointed Assemblies with Buckling and Unilateral Members

    K.Yu. Volokh1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.2, No.3, pp. 389-400, 2001, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2001.002.389

Abstract A computational framework is described for modeling pin-jointed structures comprising unilateral cable members and slender struts. The deep postbuckling behavior of struts is considered by means of 'elastica' analytical approximation. Prestressing is allowed. The proposed approach is incorporated into equilibrium path following procedures and illustrated in numerical examples. More >
