    N. A. Maidin1,2, S. M. Sapuan1,*, M. T. Mastura2, M. Y. M. Zuhri1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.5, pp. 2381-2397, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.026549 - 13 February 2023

Abstract Natural fibre reinforced polymer composite (NFRPC) materials are gaining popularity in the modern world due to their eco-friendliness, lightweight nature, life-cycle superiority, biodegradability, low cost, and noble mechanical properties. Due to the wide variety of materials available that have comparable attributes and satisfy the requirements of the product design specification, material selection has become a crucial component of design for engineers. This paper discusses the study’s findings in choosing the suitable thermoplastic matrices of Natural Fibre Composites for Cyclist Helmet utilising the DMAIC, and GRA approaches. The results are based on integrating two decision methods More >

Einstein Weighted Geometric Operator for Pythagorean Fuzzy Hypersoft with Its Application in Material Selection

    Rana Muhammad Zulqarnain1, Imran Siddique2, Rifaqat Ali3, Fahd Jarad4,5,6,*, Aiyared Iampan7

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.3, pp. 2557-2583, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.023040 - 23 November 2022

Abstract Hypersoft set theory is a most advanced form of soft set theory and an innovative mathematical tool for dealing with unclear complications. Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft set (PFHSS) is the most influential and capable leeway of the hypersoft set (HSS) and Pythagorean fuzzy soft set (PFSS). It is also a general form of the intuitionistic fuzzy hypersoft set (IFHSS), which provides a better and more perfect assessment of the decision-making (DM) process. The fundamental objective of this work is to enrich the precision of decision-making. A novel mixed aggregation operator called Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft Einstein weighted… More >

Concurrent Material Selection of Natural Fibre Filament for Fused Deposition Modeling Using Integration of Analytic Hierarchy Process/Analytic Network Process

    M. T. Mastura1,*, R. Nadlene2, R. Jumaidin1, S. I. Abdul Kudus1, M. R. Mansor2, H. M. S. Firdaus1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.5, pp. 1221-1238, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.018082 - 22 December 2021

Abstract The employment of natural fibres in fused deposition modeling has raised much attention from researchers in finding a suitable formulation for the natural fibre composite filaments. Moreover, selection of suitable natural fibres for fused deposition modeling should be performed before the development of the composites. It could not be performed without identifying selection criteria that comprehend both materials and fused deposition modeling process requirements. Therefore, in this study, integration of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)/Analytic Network Process (ANP) has been introduced in selecting the natural fibres based in different clusters of selection concurrently. The selection… More >

Sine Trigonometry Operational Laws for Complex Neutrosophic Sets and Their Aggregation Operators in Material Selection

    D. Ajay1, J. Aldring1, G. Rajchakit2, P. Hammachukiattikul3, N. Boonsatit4,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.130, No.2, pp. 1033-1076, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.018267 - 13 December 2021

Abstract In this paper, sine trigonometry operational laws (ST-OLs) have been extended to neutrosophic sets (NSs) and the operations and functionality of these laws are studied. Then, extending these ST-OLs to complex neutrosophic sets (CNSs) forms the core of this work. Some of the mathematical properties are proved based on ST-OLs. Fundamental operations and the distance measures between complex neutrosophic numbers (CNNs) based on the ST-OLs are discussed with numerical illustrations. Further the arithmetic and geometric aggregation operators are established and their properties are verified with numerical data. The general properties of the developed sine trigonometry… More >

Material Selection of a Natural Fibre Reinforced Polymer Composites using an Analytical Approach

    M. Noryani1, 3, 5, S. M. Sapuan1, 2,*, M. T. Mastura4, 5, M. Y. M. Zuhri1, E. S. Zainudin1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.11, pp. 1165-1179, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.07691 - 14 July 2021

Abstract Material selection has become a critical part of design for engineers, due to availability of diverse choice of materials that have similar properties and meet the product design specification. Implementation of statistical analysis alone makes it difficult to identify the ideal composition of the final composite. An integrated approach between statistical model and micromechanical model is desired. In this paper, resultant natural fibre and polymer matrix from previous study is used to estimate the mechanical properties such as density, Young’s modulus and tensile strength. Four levels of fibre loading are used to compare the optimum More >
