    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.3, pp. 3559-3582, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.036534

Abstract The diagnosis of liver fibrosis (LF) is crucial as it is a deadly and life-threatening disease. Artificial intelligence techniques aid doctors by using the previous data on health and making a diagnostic system, which helps to take decisions about patients’ health as experts can. The historical data of a patient’s health can have vagueness, inaccurate, and can also have missing values. The fuzzy logic theory can deal with these issues in the dataset. In this paper, a multilayer fuzzy expert system is developed to diagnose LF. The model is created by using multiple layers of the fuzzy logic approach. This… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.3, pp. 3743-3759, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.036440

Abstract Data is growing quickly due to a significant increase in social media applications. Today, billions of people use an enormous amount of data to access the Internet. The backbone network experiences a substantial load as a result of an increase in users. Users in the same region or company frequently ask for similar material, especially on social media platforms. The subsequent request for the same content can be satisfied from the edge if stored in proximity to the user. Applications that require relatively low latency can use Content Delivery Network (CDN) technology to meet their requirements. An edge and the… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.2, pp. 1653-1671, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.033861

Abstract Liver cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Early tumor detection may help identify suitable treatment and increase the survival rate. Medical imaging is a non-invasive tool that can help uncover abnormalities in human organs. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), in particular, uses magnetic fields and radio waves to differentiate internal human organs tissue. However, the interpretation of medical images requires the subjective expertise of a radiologist and oncologist. Thus, building an automated diagnosis computer-based system can help specialists reduce incorrect diagnoses. This paper proposes a hybrid automated system to compare the performance of 3D features and 2D… More >

    BIOCELL, Vol.47, No.3, pp. 445-454, 2023, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.025880

Abstract The tripartite motif (TRIMs) protein family has E3 ubiquitin ligase activity among most of its members. They participate in multiple cellular processes and signaling pathways in living organisms, including cell cycle, growth, and metabolism, and mediate chromatin modification, transcriptional regulation, post-translational modification, and cellular autophagy. Previous studies have confirmed that the TRIMs protein family is involved in the development of various cancers and correlated with the prognosis of tumor patients. Here we summarize the biological roles of the TRIMs protein family in cancers. More >

Improved Multi-Path Routing for QoS on MANET

    M. Vargheese1,*, Surbhi Bhatia2, Shakila Basheer3, Pankaj Dadheech4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2521-2536, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.031476

Abstract A Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is a self-configuring network that is not reliant on infrastructure. This paper introduces a new multipath routing method based on the Multi-Hop Routing (MHR) technique. MHR is the consecutive selection of suitable relay nodes to send information across nodes that are not within direct range of each other. Failing to ensure good MHR leads to several negative consequences, ultimately causing unsuccessful data transmission in a MANET. This research work consists of three portions. The first to attempt to propose an efficient MHR protocol is the design of Priority Based Dynamic Routing (PBDR) to adapt… More >

Liver Tumors Segmentation Using 3D SegNet Deep Learning Approach

    G. Nallasivan1,*, V. Ramachandran2, Roobaea Alroobaea3, Jasem Almotiri4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.2, pp. 1655-1677, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.030697

Abstract An ultrasonic filter detects signs of malignant tumors by analysing the image’s pixel quality fluctuations caused by a liver ailment. Signs of malignant growth proximity are identified in an ultrasound filter through image pixel quality variations from a liver’s condition. Those changes are more common in alcoholic liver conditions than in other etiologies of cirrhosis, suggesting that the cause may be alcohol instead of liver disease. Existing Two-Dimensional (2D) ultrasound data sets contain an accuracy rate of 85.9% and a 2D Computed Tomography (CT) data set of 91.02%. The most recent work on designing a Three-Dimensional (3D) ultrasound imaging system… More >
