    Taiyu Yan1, Yuxin Cao1, Guoxia Xu1, Xiaoran Zhao2, Hu Zhu1, Lizhen Deng3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.3, pp. 3741-3764, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.039828

Abstract Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) tracking has been possible because of the growth of intelligent information technology in smart cities, making it simple to gather data at any time by dynamically monitoring events, people, the environment, and other aspects in the city. The traditional filter creates a model to address the boundary effect and time filter degradation issues in UAV tracking operations. But these methods ignore the loss of data integrity terms since they are overly dependent on numerous explicit previous regularization terms. In light of the aforementioned issues, this work suggests a dual-domain Jensen-Shannon divergence correlation filter (DJSCF) model address… More >

    BIOCELL, Vol.47, No.12, pp. 2567-2578, 2023, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.043781

Abstract Down syndrome (DS) is a genetic condition characterized by intellectual disability, delayed brain development, and early onset Alzheimer’s disease. The use of primary neural cells and tissues is important for understanding this disease, but there are ethical and practical issues, including availability from patients and experimental manipulability. Moreover, there are significant genetic and physiological differences between animal models and humans, which limits the translation of the findings in animal studies to humans. Advancements in induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) technology have revolutionized DS research by providing a valuable tool for studying the cellular and molecular pathologies associated with DS. Se Li1, Tiantang Yu1,*, Tinh Quoc Bui2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.3, pp. 2793-2808, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030278

Abstract Isogeometric analysis (IGA) is known to show advanced features compared to traditional finite element approaches. Using IGA one may accurately obtain the geometrically nonlinear bending behavior of plates with functional grading (FG). However, the procedure is usually complex and often is time-consuming. We thus put forward a deep learning method to model the geometrically nonlinear bending behavior of FG plates, bypassing the complex IGA simulation process. A long bidirectional short-term memory (BLSTM) recurrent neural network is trained using the load and gradient index as inputs and the displacement responses as outputs. The nonlinear relationship between the outputs and the inputs… More >

Abstract Intelligent traffic control requires accurate estimation of the road states and incorporation of adaptive or dynamically adjusted intelligent algorithms for making the decision. In this article, these issues are handled by proposing a novel framework for traffic control using vehicular communications and Internet of Things data. The framework integrates Kalman filtering and Q-learning. Unlike smoothing Kalman filtering, our data fusion Kalman filter incorporates a process-aware model which makes it superior in terms of the prediction error. Unlike traditional Q-learning, our Q-learning algorithm enables adaptive state quantization by changing the threshold of separating low traffic from high traffic on the road… More >

The Conversion of Non-Dispersed Polymers into Low-Potassium Anti-Collapse Drilling Fluids

    Hao Hu1,2,3, Jian Guan4, Shanfa Tang1,2,3,*, Jialuo Rong1,2,3, Yuanpeng Cheng1,2,3

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.2, pp. 325-335, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.042055

Abstract Different drilling fluid systems are designed according to mineral composition, lithology and wellbore stability of different strata. In the present study, the conversion of a non-dispersed polymer drilling fluid into a low potassium anti-collapsing drilling fluid is investigated. Since the two drilling fluids belong to completely different types, the key to this conversion is represented by new inhibitors, dispersants and water-loss agents by which a non-dispersed drilling fluid can be turned into a dispersed drilling fluid while ensuring wellbore stability and reasonable rheology (carrying sand—inhibiting cuttings dispersion). In particular, the (QYZ-1) inhibitors and (FSJSS-2) dispersants are used. The former can… More >

Numerical Simulation of Asphaltene Precipitation and Deposition during Natural Gas and CO2 Injection

Shasha Feng*, Yi Liao, Weixin Liu, Jianwen Dai, Mingying Xie, Li Li

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.2, pp. 275-292, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.041825

Abstract Asphaltene deposition is a significant problem during gas injection processes, as it can block the porous medium, the wellbore, and the involved facilities, significantly impacting reservoir productivity and ultimate oil recovery. Only a few studies have investigated the numerical modeling of this potential effect in porous media. This study focuses on asphaltene deposition due to natural gas and CO2 injection. Predictions of the effect of gas injection on asphaltene deposition behavior have been made using a 3D numerical simulation model. The results indicate that the injection of natural gas exacerbates asphaltene deposition, leading to a significant reduction in permeability near… More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract The goal of this work is to provide an understanding of estimation technology for both linear and nonlinear dynamical systems. A critical analysis of both the Kalman filter (KF) and the extended Kalman filter (EKF) will be provided, along with examples to illustrate some important issues related to filtering convergence due to system modeling. A conceptual explanation of the topic with illustrative examples provided in the paper can help the readers capture the essential principles and avoid making mistakes while implementing the algorithms. Adding fictitious process noise to the system model assumed by the filter designers for convergence assurance is… More >

Paradigm of Numerical Simulation of Spatial Wind Field for Disaster Prevention of Transmission Tower Lines

    Yongxin Liu1, Puyu Zhao2, Jianxin Xu2, Xiaokai Meng1, Hong Yang1, Bo He2,*

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.17, No.6, pp. 521-539, 2023, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2023.029850

Abstract Numerical simulation of the spatial wind field plays a very important role in the study of wind-induced response law of transmission tower structures. A reasonable construction of a numerical simulation method of the wind field is conducive to the study of wind-induced response law under the action of an actual wind field. Currently, many research studies rely on simulating spatial wind fields as Gaussian wind, often overlooking the basic non-Gaussian characteristics. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the historical development and current state of spatial wind field simulations, along with a detailed introduction to standard simulation methods.… More > Graphic Abstract

    Xiuhui Diao1, Pengfei Wang1,2,*, Weidong Li2, Xianwu Chu2, Yunming Wang2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1795-1812, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030008

Abstract To solve the problem of data fusion for prior information such as track information and train status in train positioning, an adaptive H filtering algorithm with combination constraint is proposed, which fuses prior information with other sensor information in the form of constraints. Firstly, the train precise track constraint method of the train is proposed, and the plane position constraint and train motion state constraints are analysed. A model for combining prior information with constraints is established. Then an adaptive H filter with combination constraints is derived based on the adaptive adjustment method of the robustness factor. Finally, the positioning… More >

Experimental Study on Gas Flow Uniformity in a Diesel Particulate Filter Carrier

    Zhengyong Wang1, Jianhua Zhang2, Guoliang Su3, Peixing Yang4, Xiantao Fan4, Shuzhan Bai1, Ke Sun1,*, Guihua Wang1,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.1, pp. 193-204, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.030561

Abstract A Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is a critical device for diesel engine exhaust products treatment. When using active-regeneration purification methods, on the one hand, a spatially irregular gas flow can produce relatively high local temperatures, potentially resulting in damage to the carrier; On the other hand, the internal temperature field can also undergo significant changes contributing to increase this risk. This study explores the gas flow uniformity in a DPF carrier and the related temperature behavior under drop-to-idle (DTI) condition by means of bench tests. It is shown that the considered silicon carbide carrier exhibits good flow uniformity, with a… More >
