    Qiang Zhang1, Xianguang Zha1, Jun Wu1, Liang Zhang1, Wei Dai2, Gang Ren3, Shiqian Li3, Ning Ji3,*, Xiangjun Zhu3, Fengwei Tian3

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.16, No.1, pp. 37-51, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2022.018422 - 11 February 2022

Abstract As the emergency power supply for a simulation substation, lead-acid batteries have a work pattern featuring non-continuous operation, which leads to capacity regeneration. However, the accurate estimation of battery state of charge (SOC), a measurement of the amount of energy available in a battery, remains a hard nut to crack because of the non-stationarity and randomness of battery capacity change. This paper has proposed a comprehensive method for lead-acid battery SOC estimation, which may aid in maintaining a reasonable charging schedule in a simulation substation and improving battery’s durability. Based on the battery work pattern, More >

Evaluation and Forecasting of Wind Energy Investment Risk along the Belt and Road Based on a Novel Hybrid Intelligent Model

    Liping Yan1,*, Wei-Chiang Hong2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.128, No.3, pp. 1069-1102, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.016499 - 11 August 2021

Abstract The timely and effective investment risk assessment and forecasting are of great significance to ensure the investment safety and sustainable development of wind energy along the Belt and Road. In order to obtain the scientific and real-time forecasting result, this paper constructs a novel hybrid intelligent model based on improved cloud model combined with GRA-TOPSIS and MBA-WLSSVM. Firstly, the factors influencing investment risk of wind energy along the Belt and Road are identified from three dimensions: endogenous risk, exogenous risk and process risk. Through the fuzzy threshold method, the final input index system is selected.… More >

Prediction Model for Gas Outburst Intensity of Coal Mining Face Based on Improved PSO and LSSVM

    Haibo Liu1,*, Yujie Dong2, Fuzhong Wang1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.3, pp. 679-689, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.014630 - 22 March 2021

Abstract For the problems of nonlinearity, uncertainty and low prediction accuracy in the gas outburst prediction of coal mining face, the least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) is proposed to establish the prediction model. Firstly, considering the inertia coefficients as global parameters lacks the ability to improve the solution for the traditional particle swarm optimization (PSO), an improved PSO (IPSO) algorithm is introduced to adjust different inertia weights in updating the particle swarm and solve the fitness to stagnate. Secondly, the penalty factor and kernel function parameter of LSSVM are searched automatically, and the regression accuracy More >

Highway Cost Prediction Based on LSSVM Optimized by Intial Parameters

    Xueqing Wang1, Shuang Liu1,*, Lejun Zhang2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 259-269, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.014343 - 23 December 2020

Abstract The cost of highway is affected by many factors. Its composition and calculation are complicated and have great ambiguity. Calculating the cost of highway according to the traditional highway engineering estimation method is a completely tedious task. Constructing a highway cost prediction model can forecast the value promptly and improve the accuracy of highway engineering cost. This work sorts out and collects 60 sets of measured data of highway engineering; establishes an expressway cost index system based on 10 factors, including main route mileage, roadbed width, roadbed earthwork, and number of bridges; and processes the More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.1, pp. 1057-1074, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.012537 - 30 October 2020

Abstract The narrowing deformation of reservoir valley during the initial operation period threatens the long-term safety of the dam, and an accurate prediction of valley deformation (VD) remains a challenging part of risk mitigation. In order to enhance the accuracy of VD prediction, a novel hybrid model combining Ensemble empirical mode decomposition based interval threshold denoising (EEMD-ITD), Differential evolutions—Shuffled frog leaping algorithm (DE-SFLA) and Least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) is proposed. The non-stationary VD series is firstly decomposed into several stationary subseries by EEMD; then, ITD is applied for redundant information denoising on special sub-series,… More >

Abstract In the present work, a novel machine learning computational investigation is carried out to accurately predict the solubility of different acids in supercritical carbon dioxide. Four different machine learning algorithms of radial basis function, multi-layer perceptron (MLP), artificial neural networks (ANN), least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) are used to model the solubility of different acids in carbon dioxide based on the temperature, pressure, hydrogen number, carbon number, molecular weight, and the dissociation constant of acid. To evaluate the proposed models, different graphical and statistical analyses, along with novel More >
