Hybrid Power Bank Deployment Model for Energy Supply Coverage Optimization in Industrial Wireless Sensor Network

    Hang Yang1,2,*, Xunbo Li1, Witold Pedrycz2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.2, pp. 1531-1551, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.039256 - 21 June 2023

Abstract Energy supply is one of the most critical challenges of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and industrial wireless sensor networks (IWSNs). While research on coverage optimization problem (COP) centers on the network’s monitoring coverage, this research focuses on the power banks’ energy supply coverage. The study of 2-D and 3-D spaces is typical in IWSN, with the realistic environment being more complex with obstacles (i.e., machines). A 3-D surface is the field of interest (FOI) in this work with the established hybrid power bank deployment model for the energy supply COP optimization of IWSN. The hybrid… More >

An Enhanced Routing and Lifetime Performance for Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks

    J. V. Anchitaalagammai1,*, K. Muthumayil2, D. Kamalraj Subramaniam3, Rajesh Verma4, P. Muralikrishnan5, G. Visalaxi6

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.3, pp. 1783-1792, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.020967 - 09 October 2021

Abstract Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks (IWSNs), especially energy resources, are scarce. Since sensor nodes are usually very dense, and the data sampled by the sensor nodes have high redundancy, data aggregation saves energy, reduces the number of transmissions, and eliminates redundancy. Many applications can be used in IIWSNs, and a new technique is introduced to detect multiple sensors embedded in different sensor nodes. Packets created by different applications have different properties. Sensors are resource-constrained devices because it is necessary to find effective reaction analysis methods and transfer sensed data to base stations. Since sensors are resource-constrained… More >

Comprehensive Analysis of Secure Data Aggregation Scheme for Industrial Wireless Sensor Network

    Weidong Fang1, Wuxiong Zhang1,2,*, QianQian Zhao1,2, Xiaohong Ji3, Wei Chen4, Biruk Assefa5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.61, No.2, pp. 583-599, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05237

Abstract As an Industrial Wireless Sensor Network (IWSN) is usually deployed in a harsh or unattended environment, the privacy security of data aggregation is facing more and more challenges. Currently, the data aggregation protocols mainly focus on improving the efficiency of data transmitting and aggregating, alternately, the aim at enhancing the security of data. The performances of the secure data aggregation protocols are the trade-off of several metrics, which involves the transmission/fusion, the energy efficiency and the security in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). Unfortunately, there is no paper in systematic analysis about the performance of the… More >
