Intelligent Diagnosis of Highway Bridge Technical Condition Based on Defect Information

    Yanxue Ma1, Xiaoling Liu1,*, Bing Wang2, Ying Liu1

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.18, No.6, pp. 871-889, 2024, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2024.052683 - 20 September 2024

Abstract In the bridge technical condition assessment standards, the evaluation of bridge conditions primarily relies on the defects identified through manual inspections, which are determined using the comprehensive hierarchical analysis method. However, the relationship between the defects and the technical condition of the bridges warrants further exploration. To address this situation, this paper proposes a machine learning-based intelligent diagnosis model for the technical condition of highway bridges. Firstly, collect the inspection records of highway bridges in a certain region of China, then standardize the severity of diverse defects in accordance with relevant specifications. Secondly, in order… More >

    Hong Zhang1,2,*, Gang Yang1, Hailiang Yu1, Zan Zheng1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.1, pp. 1047-1063, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.039274 - 08 June 2023

Abstract To accurately predict traffic flow on the highways, this paper proposes a Convolutional Neural Network-Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory-Attention Mechanism (CNN-BiLSTM-Attention) traffic flow prediction model based on Kalman-filtered data processing. Firstly, the original fluctuating data is processed by Kalman filtering, which can reduce the instability of short-term traffic flow prediction due to unexpected accidents. Then the local spatial features of the traffic data during different periods are extracted, dimensionality is reduced through a one-dimensional CNN, and the BiLSTM network is used to analyze the time series information. Finally, the Attention Mechanism assigns feature weights and performs… More >

Modeling and Analyzing for a Novel Continuum Model Considering Self-Stabilizing Control on Curved Road with Slope

    Li Lei1, Zihao Wang2,*, Yong Wu3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.131, No.3, pp. 1815-1830, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019855 - 19 April 2022

Abstract It is essential to fully understand master the traffic characteristics of the self-stabilizing control effect and road characteristics to ensure the regular operation of transportation. Traffic flow on curved roads and slopes is irregular and more complicated than that on the straight road. However, most of the research only considers the effect of self-stabilizing in the straight road. This study attempts to bridge this deficiency from the following three aspects. First, we review the potential influencing factors of traffic flow stability, which are related to the vehicle's steady velocity, history velocity, and the turn radius… More >

Analysis of Highway Asphalt Modified with Recycled Rubber and Waste Plastics

    Aimin Zhang, Mingzhi Lu*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.18, No.4, pp. 907-918, 2022, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.018995 - 06 April 2022

Abstract In this study, it is shown how recycled rubber and waste plastics can modify the softening point and penetration of asphalt traditionally used for highways. It is shown that the modified asphalt can meet the performance index requirements when the components are present with a certain proportion or relative ratio (1:3.5). The dispersion process of the masterbatch in base asphalt can effectively be implemented, with good results and a smaller mixing time. The proposed approach may be regarded as a good strategy to achieve energy savings and protection of the environment. More >

A Pull-Out Test Study on the Working State of Fully Grouted Bolts

    Ruixin Zhao1,*, Zhongju Feng1, Guan Jiang1, Fuchun Wang1, Yidong Zhang2, Changan Zhang3, Zhenbing Wang1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.17, No.2, pp. 441-453, 2021, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2021.010595 - 02 April 2021

Abstract The present study examines the working conditions of fully grouted bolts used for the construction and expansion of high slopes. On the basis of a pull out destructive test, the work load and the ultimate load are obtained on site, and the Flac3d numerical simulation method is employed to determine the axial force distribution and the effective anchor length. The test results show that (1) the Q-S (load-displacement) curve of the bolt displays a certain degree of deformation coupled with the creep of the surrounding rock; (2) the working load of the bolt is closely More >

Highway Cost Prediction Based on LSSVM Optimized by Intial Parameters

    Xueqing Wang1, Shuang Liu1,*, Lejun Zhang2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 259-269, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.014343 - 23 December 2020

Abstract The cost of highway is affected by many factors. Its composition and calculation are complicated and have great ambiguity. Calculating the cost of highway according to the traditional highway engineering estimation method is a completely tedious task. Constructing a highway cost prediction model can forecast the value promptly and improve the accuracy of highway engineering cost. This work sorts out and collects 60 sets of measured data of highway engineering; establishes an expressway cost index system based on 10 factors, including main route mileage, roadbed width, roadbed earthwork, and number of bridges; and processes the More >

    Ibnu Rusydy1,3,*, Nafisah Al-Huda1,2, M. Fahmi4, Naufal Effendi4

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.13, No.4, pp. 379-398, 2019, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2019.08192

Abstract Rock slope kinematic analysis and rock mass classifications has been conducted at the 17th km to 26th km of USAID (United States Agency for International Development) highway in Indonesia. This research aimed to examine the type of rock slope failures and the quality of rock mass as well. The scan-line method was performed in six slopes by using a geological compass to determine rock mass structure on the rock slope, and the condition of joints such as persistence, aperture, roughness, infilling material, weathering and groundwater conditions. Slope kinematic analysis was performed employing a stereographic projection. The… More >

    Weiwei Liu1, *, Yang Tang2, Fei Yang2, Jin Wang3

    Journal on Internet of Things, Vol.1, No.2, pp. 71-76, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jiot.2019.05946

Abstract Carbon monoxide (CO) is harmful to our health, and even causes death. The main source of CO is automobile exhaust. Therefore, this article determines that CO is the emission factor, and finally the evaluation model is established. The model provides an important basis for the highway construction project design, traffic management, environmental pollution control, energy saving, environmental evaluation and so on. Compared with the traditional method that calculates the road traffic volume through the air emissions model, according to the total amount of air pollution control, this paper builds the emission diffusion model, which calculates More >
