    Sara I. Abdelsalam1,2,*, M. Khairy3, W. Abbas3, Ahmed M. Megahed4, M. S. Emam5

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.23, No.6, pp. 1833-1846, 2025, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2025.069711 - 31 December 2025

Abstract This comprehensive research examines the dynamics of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow and heat transfer within a couple stress fluid. The investigation specifically focuses on the fluid’s behavior over a vertical stretching sheet embedded within a porous medium, providing valuable insights into the complex interactions between fluid mechanics, thermal transport, and magnetic fields. This study accounts for the significant impact of heat generation and thermal radiation, crucial factors for enhancing heat transfer efficiency in various industrial and technological contexts. The research employs mathematical techniques to simplify complex partial differential equations (PDEs) governing fluid flow and heat transfer.… More >

Engineering Amorphous Solid Dispersions of Abiraterone Acetate via HPMC HME: A Polymer-Centric Hot-Melt Extrusion Strategy for Formulation-Driven Bioavailability Improvement

    Manisha Choudhari1, Shantanu Damle2, Rajat Vashist1, Ranendra Narayan Saha3, Sunil Kumar Dubey4, Gautam Singhvi1,*

    Journal of Polymer Materials, Vol.42, No.4, pp. 1199-1229, 2025, DOI:10.32604/jpm.2025.072987 - 26 December 2025

Abstract Abiraterone acetate (ABTA) was approved by the USFDA in 2011 for treating metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). ABTA exhibits poor aqueous solubility, inadequate dissolution, low oral bioavailability (<10%), and significant positive food effects. To overcome these limitations, in the present work, ABTA solid dispersions (SDs) were developed by using hot melt extrusion technology (HME) with various grades of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose HME (HPMC HME 15LV and 100LV) at different extrusion temperatures. HPMC HME demonstrated the ability to prevent drug precipitation for up to 120 min compared to the free drug (10 min), sustaining the supersaturation state… More > Graphic Abstract

    RAN PAN1,#, JIAYAN MAO2,#, YUELIANG ZHENG3, WEI CHEN2, JUNPING GUO1,*, LIJUN WANG3,*

    BIOCELL, Vol.48, No.3, pp. 431-441, 2024, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.046484 - 15 March 2024

Abstract Background: Sepsis, a type of systemic disease, can impact nearly all organs, tissues and cells. Among them, endothelial cells are amongst the first to be affected and respond to the insult. In this study, we investigated the protective effects of microRNA-30a-5p (miR-30a-5p) on human pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells (HPMECs) treated with lipolysaccharide (LPS). Methods: An in vitro model of sepsis was established in HPMECs with the use of LPS. Transfecting with different tools (mimetic and inhibitor) to modify miR-30a-5p expression. Cell viability, proliferation and apoptosis were detected by the CCK-8 assay, the EdU kit and fluorescence… More >

    Hakeem Ullah1, Mehreen Fiza1,*, Ilyas Khan2,*, Abd Allah A. Mosa3, Saeed Islam1, Abdullah Mohammed4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 277-291, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.022289 - 05 January 2023

Abstract In this paper, we present a new modification of the newly developed semi-analytical method named the Optimal Auxilary Function Method (OAFM) for fractional-order equations using the Caputo operator, which is named FOAFM. The mathematical theory of FOAFM is presented and the effectiveness of this method is proven by using it with well-known Fornberg-Whitham Equations (FWE). The FOAFM results are compared with other method results along with their exact solutions with the help of tables and plots to prove the validity of FOAFM. A rapidly convergent series solution is obtained from FOAFM and is validated by… More >

Damped Mathieu Equation with a Modulation Property of the Homotopy Perturbation Method

    Yusry O. El-Dib, Nasser S. Elgazery*

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.56, No.1, pp. 21-36, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sv.2022.014166 - 10 January 2022

Abstract In this article, the main objective is to employ the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) as an alternative to classical perturbation methods for solving nonlinear equations having periodic coefficients. As a simple example, the nonlinear damping Mathieu equation has been investigated. In this investigation, two nonlinear solvability conditions are imposed. One of them was imposed in the first-order homotopy perturbation and used to study the stability behavior at resonance and non-resonance cases. The next level of the perturbation approaches another solvability condition and is applied to obtain the unknowns become clear in the solution for the More >

HPMC: A Multi-target Tracking Algorithm for the IoT

    Xinyue Lv1, Xiaofeng Lian2,*, Li Tan1, Yanyan Song1, Chenyu Wang3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.28, No.2, pp. 513-526, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.016450 - 01 April 2021

Abstract With the rapid development of the Internet of Things and advanced sensors, vision-based monitoring and forecasting applications have been widely used. In the context of the Internet of Things, visual devices can be regarded as network perception nodes that perform complex tasks, such as real-time monitoring of road traffic flow, target detection, and multi-target tracking. We propose the High-Performance detection and Multi-Correlation measurement algorithm (HPMC) to address the problem of target occlusion and perform trajectory correlation matching for multi-target tracking. The algorithm consists of three modules: 1) For the detection module, we proposed the You… More >

Dynamic Response and Oscillating Behaviour of Fractionally Damped Beam

    Diptiranjan Behera1, S. Chakraverty2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.104, No.3, pp. 211-225, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.104.211

Abstract This paper presents the numerical solution of a viscoelastic continuous beam whose damping behaviours are defined in term of fractional derivatives of arbitrary order. Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM) is used to obtain the dynamic response with respect to unit impulse load. Obtained results are depicted in term of plots. Comparisons are made with the analytic solutions obtained by Zu-feng and Xiao-yan (2007) to show the effectiveness and validation of the present method. More >

Non Probabilistic Solution of Fuzzy Fractional Fornberg-Whitham Equation

    S. Chakraverty1,2, Smita Tapaswini1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.103, No.2, pp. 71-90, 2014, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2014.103.071

Abstract Fractional Fornberg-Whitham equation has a vast application in physics. There exist various investigations for the above problem by considering the variables and parameters as crisp/exact. In practice, we may not have these parameters exactly but those may be known in some uncertain form. In the present paper, these uncertainties are taken as interval/fuzzy and the authors proposed here a new method viz. that of the double parametric form of fuzzy numbers to handle the uncertain fractional Fornberg-Whitham equation. Using the single parametric form of fuzzy numbers, original fuzzy fractional Fornberg-Whitham equation is converted first to More >
