    Donghua Dai1,2,*, Yanze Li1,2, Dongdong Gu1,2,*, Wentai Zhao1,2, Yuhang Long1,2

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.30, No.4, pp. 1-1, 2024, DOI:10.32604/icces.2024.012500

Abstract Laser Directed Energy Deposition (LDED) technology was employed to fabricate internal structures within the hollow interiors of rotating parts, such as tubes and cylinders. A three-dimensional transient multiphysics model for C276 material was developed, which anticipated the impact of angular velocity from tube rotation on various aspects. This model, validated by experiments, focused on the melt pool morphology, Marangoni convection, oriented crystal microevolution, and deposited material microhardness. It was found that at 150 ms deposition, the dimensions of the melt pool stabilized. With an increase in the Peclet number, heat transfer within the melt pool… More >

Explicitly Color-Inspired Neural Style Transfer Using Patchified AdaIN

    Bumsoo Kim1, Wonseop Shin2, Yonghoon Jung1, Youngsup Park3, Sanghyun Seo1,4,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.141, No.3, pp. 2143-2164, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.056079 - 31 October 2024

Abstract Arbitrary style transfer aims to perceptually reflect the style of a reference image in artistic creations with visual aesthetics. Traditional style transfer models, particularly those using adaptive instance normalization (AdaIN) layer, rely on global statistics, which often fail to capture the spatially local color distribution, leading to outputs that lack variation despite geometric transformations. To address this, we introduce Patchified AdaIN, a color-inspired style transfer method that applies AdaIN to localized patches, utilizing local statistics to capture the spatial color distribution of the reference image. This approach enables enhanced color awareness in style transfer, adapting… More >

    Yi Pan1, Lei Xie2,*, Hongye Su2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.39, No.4, pp. 683-696, 2024, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.038543 - 06 September 2024

Abstract In the process of fault detection and classification, the operation mode usually drifts over time, which brings great challenges to the algorithms. Because traditional machine learning based fault classification cannot dynamically update the trained model according to the probability distribution of the testing dataset, the accuracy of these traditional methods usually drops significantly in the case of covariate shift. In this paper, an importance-weighted transfer learning method is proposed for fault classification in the nonlinear multi-mode industrial process. It effectively alters the drift between the training and testing dataset. Firstly, the mutual information method is… More >

    Oncology Research, Vol.32, No.8, pp. 1239-1256, 2024, DOI:10.32604/or.2024.052130 - 17 July 2024

Abstract Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is an aggressive primary brain tumor characterized by extensive heterogeneity and vascular proliferation. Hypoxic conditions in the tissue microenvironment are considered a pivotal player leading tumor progression. Specifically, hypoxia is known to activate inducible factors, such as hypoxia-inducible factor 1alpha (HIF-1α), which in turn can stimulate tumor neo-angiogenesis through activation of various downward mediators, such as the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Here, we aimed to explore the role of HIF-1α/VEGF immunophenotypes alone and in combination with other prognostic markers or clinical and image analysis data, as potential biomarkers of GBM prognosis… More >

ALEKSANDRA GORNOSTAEVA, LUDMILA BURAVKOVA, MARGARITA LOBANOVA, ELENA ANDREEVA*

    BIOCELL, Vol.48, No.5, pp. 677-692, 2024, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2024.048873 - 06 May 2024

Abstract The structural and associated molecules of the extracellular matrix (ECM) complex is an important component of the local milieu of cells, both for maintaining their functions and homeostasis. It is a dynamic structure that is finely tuned to changes in the microenvironment. One of these factors is hypoxia, which can arise in tissues due to physiological or pathological effects. As a result of the hypoxic effect, the properties of the ECM are significantly modified, stiffness increases, the balance between degradation and synthesis of structural proteins shifts, and the deposition of biologically active mediators’ changes. Hypoxia-inducible… More >

A Dual Discriminator Method for Generalized Zero-Shot Learning

    Tianshu Wei1, Jinjie Huang1,2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.79, No.1, pp. 1599-1612, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.048098 - 25 April 2024

Abstract Zero-shot learning enables the recognition of new class samples by migrating models learned from semantic features and existing sample features to things that have never been seen before. The problems of consistency of different types of features and domain shift problems are two of the critical issues in zero-shot learning. To address both of these issues, this paper proposes a new modeling structure. The traditional approach mapped semantic features and visual features into the same feature space; based on this, a dual discriminator approach is used in the proposed model. This dual discriminator approach can… More >

Intelligent Fault Diagnosis Method of Rolling Bearings Based on Transfer Residual Swin Transformer with Shifted Windows

    Haomiao Wang1, Jinxi Wang2, Qingmei Sui2,*, Faye Zhang2, Yibin Li1, Mingshun Jiang2, Phanasindh Paitekul3

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.18, No.2, pp. 91-110, 2024, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2023.041522 - 22 March 2024

Abstract Due to their robust learning and expression ability for complex features, the deep learning (DL) model plays a vital role in bearing fault diagnosis. However, since there are fewer labeled samples in fault diagnosis, the depth of DL models in fault diagnosis is generally shallower than that of DL models in other fields, which limits the diagnostic performance. To solve this problem, a novel transfer residual Swin Transformer (RST) is proposed for rolling bearings in this paper. RST has 24 residual self-attention layers, which use the hierarchical design and the shifted window-based residual self-attention. Combined More >
