Abstract Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death globally. CVDs are a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels and include coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease and rheumatic heart disease among other conditions. There are multiple independent risk factors for CVD, including hypertension, age, smoking, insulin resistance, elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels, and triglyceride levels. LDL-C levels have traditionally been the target for therapies aimed at reducing CVD risk. High density lipoprotein (HDL) constitutes the only lipoprotein fraction with atheroprotective functions. Early HDL-targeted therapies have focused on increasing HDL-C levels. However,… More > Graphic Abstract

HDLIDP: A Hybrid Deep Learning Intrusion Detection and Prevention Framework

    Magdy M. Fadel1,*, Sally M. El-Ghamrawy2, Amr M. T. Ali-Eldin1, Mohammed K. Hassan3, Ali I. El-Desoky1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 2293-2312, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.028287 - 16 June 2022

Abstract Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks are designed to interrupt network services such as email servers and webpages in traditional computer networks. Furthermore, the enormous number of connected devices makes it difficult to operate such a network effectively. Software defined networks (SDN) are networks that are managed through a centralized control system, according to researchers. This controller is the brain of any SDN, composing the forwarding table of all data plane network switches. Despite the advantages of SDN controllers, DDoS attacks are easier to perpetrate than on traditional networks. Because the controller is a single point of More >

Smart Grid Security by Embedding S-Box Advanced Encryption Standard

    Niraj Kumar1,*, Vishnu Mohan Mishra2, Adesh Kumar3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.1, pp. 623-638, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.024804 - 15 April 2022

Abstract Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems continuously monitor the real-time processes in the smart grid. The system software, which is based on a human-machine interface (HMI), makes intelligent decisions to assist the system operator and perform normal grid management activities. The management of SCADA networks and monitoring without proper security is a major concern, as many grids and plant networks still lack necessary monitoring and detection systems, making them vulnerable to attack. SCADA networks exploit physical weaknesses as well as cyber-attacks. Researchers have developed a monitoring system based on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA)… More >

Performance Analysis of AODV Routing for Wireless Sensor Network in FPGA Hardware

    Namit Gupta1,*, Kunwar Singh Vaisla2, Arpit Jain3, Adesh Kumar4, Rajeev Kumar3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.40, No.3, pp. 1073-1084, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.019911 - 24 September 2021

Abstract Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a group of interconnected sensor nodes that work wirelessly to capture the information of surroundings. The routing of the network is a challenging task. The routing of WSN is classified as proactive, reactive, and hybrid. Adhoc on-demand distance vector (AODV) routing is an example of reactive routing based on the demand route formations among different nodes in the network. The research article emphasizes the design and simulation of the AODV routing hardware chip using very-high-speed integrated circuit hardware description language (VHDL) programming in Xilinx integrated synthesis environment (ISE) 14.7 software.
