Soha A. Shaban*, Amira A. Atta, Dalia L. Elsheweikh

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.48, No.5, pp. 1213-1250, 2024, DOI:10.32604/csse.2024.052603 - 13 September 2024

Abstract Field training is the backbone of the teacher-preparation process. Its importance stems from the goals that colleges of education aim to achieve, which include bridging the gap between theory and practice and aligning with contemporary educational trends during teacher training. Currently, trainee students attendance in field training is recorded manually through signatures on attendance sheets. However, this method is prone to impersonation, time wastage, and misplacement. Additionally, traditional methods of evaluating trainee students are often susceptible to human errors during the evaluation and scoring processes. Field training also lacks modern technology that the supervisor can… More >

    Yu Song1, Xuejun Chen1, Baoping Zou2,*, Jundong Mu3, Rusheng Hu4, Siqi Cheng5, Shengli Zhao3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.2, pp. 1021-1039, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021164 - 31 August 2022

Abstract During subway operation, various factors will cause long-term land subsidence, such as the vibration subsidence of foundation soil caused by train vibration load, incomplete consolidation deformation of foundation soil during tunnel construction, dense buildings and structures in the vicinity of the tunnel, and changes in water level in the stratum where the tunnel is located. The monitoring of long-term land subsidence during subway operation in high-density urban areas differs from that in low-density urban construction areas. The former is the gathering point of the entire urban population. There are many complex buildings around the project,… More >

Modeling and Prediction of Inter-System Bias for GPS/BDS-2/BDS-3 Combined Precision Point Positioning

    Zejie Wang1, Qianxin Wang1,*, Sanxi Li2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.132, No.3, pp. 823-843, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.020106 - 27 June 2022

Abstract The combination of Precision Point Positioning (PPP) with Multi-Global Navigation Satellite System (MultiGNSS), called MGPPP, can improve the positioning precision and shorten the convergence time more effectively than the combination of PPP with only the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS). However, the Inter-System Bias (ISB) measurement of Multi-GNSS, including the time system offset, the coordinate system difference, and the inter-system hardware delay bias, must be considered for Multi-GNSS data fusion processing. The detected ISB can be well modeled and predicted by using a quadratic model (QM), an autoregressive integrated moving average model (ARIMA), as well… More >

Variational Bayesian Based IMM Robust GPS Navigation Filter

    Dah-Jing Jwo1,*, Wei-Yeh Chang2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.1, pp. 755-773, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.025040 - 24 February 2022

Abstract This paper investigates the navigational performance of Global Positioning System (GPS) using the variational Bayesian (VB) based robust filter with interacting multiple model (IMM) adaptation as the navigation processor. The performance of the state estimation for GPS navigation processing using the family of Kalman filter (KF) may be degraded due to the fact that in practical situations the statistics of measurement noise might change. In the proposed algorithm, the adaptivity is achieved by estimating the time-varying noise covariance matrices based on VB learning using the probabilistic approach, where in each update step, both the system… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 6107-6124, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024722 - 14 January 2022

Abstract In this paper, the estimator-based Global Positioning System (GPS) attitude and angular velocity determination is presented. Outputs of the attitude estimator include the attitude angles and attitude rates or body angular velocities, depending on the design of estimator. Traditionally as a position, velocity and time sensor, the GPS also offers a free attitude-determination interferometer. GPS research and applications to the field of attitude determination using carrier phase or Doppler measurement has been extensively conducted. The raw attitude solution using the interferometry technique based on the least-squares approach is inherently noisy. The estimator such as the… More >

Continuous Tracking of GPS Signals with Data Wipe-Off Method

    Dah-Jing Jwo*, Kun-Chan Lee

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.2, pp. 3803-3820, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.023442 - 07 December 2021

Abstract The decentralized pre-filter based vector tracking loop (VTL) configuration with data wipe-off (DWO) method of the Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver is proposed for performance enhancement. It is a challenging task to continuously track the satellites’ signals in weak signal environment for the GPS receiver. VTL is a very attractive technique as it can provide tracking capability in signal-challenged environments. In the VTL, each channel will not form a loop independently. On the contrary, the signals in the channels of VTL are shared with each other; the navigation processor in turn predicts the code phases.… More >

    Dah-Jing Jwo*, Sheng-Feng Chiu

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 6159-6176, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020793 - 11 October 2021

Abstract In this paper, the data wipe-off (DWO) algorithm is incorporated into the vector tracking loop of the Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver for improving signal tracking performance. The navigation data, which contains information that is necessary to perform navigation computations, are binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) modulated onto the GPS carrier phase with the bit duration of 20 ms (i.e., 50 bits per second). To continuously track the satellite’s signal in weak signal environment, the DWO algorithm on the basis of pre-detection method is adopted to detect data bit sign reversal every 20 ms. Tracking accuracy… More >
